Being by Sanctuary Spa - Bath and Body

Do your bath and body products make you feel fresh AF or full of ballsy beauty? I wasn’t sure mine did either until I tried Being by Sanctuary Spa. This unique bath and body brand gets its punchy attitude direct from the UK. In addition to being fearless, the four fragrances of Being are also cruelty, paraben, microbead and microplastic free.

Being by Sanctuary Spa – Face Masks

Being by Sanctuary Spa Face Masks

Being was kind enough to send me a range of products to try out, including two of their face masks. I received the Caramel Comforting Cake-On Face Mask and the Mango Warming Clay Face Mask, $10.00 each.

The Caramel Comforting Cake-On Mask is designed to comfort and restore skin, while the Mango Warming Clay Mask draws out impurities and helps calm skin. Both are suitable for all skin types.

Of the two masks, the Mango is my favorite. The warming sensation is actually very comforting. It’s not overly intense so it doesn’t irritate my extremely sensitive skin. Each time I use it, my skin feels refreshed, very soft, and free of impurities. The mask does have a mango scent, but I found it to be very subtle.

On the other hand, the Being by Sanctuary Spa Caramel mask scent is a little too intense for me, both in scent and formula. I do find the mask to feel soothing and cooling to the skin. However, the scent is a little overpowering and never seems to dissipate. The intensity of the formula is also a little too strong for my skin, especially if I leave it on for the recommended 15 minutes. While my skin looks refreshed each time I use it, it feels very tight and dry.

 Body Scrub and Body Butter

Being by Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub and Bath Butter

Of all the products I received, the Body Scrub and Body Butter, $15 each, are my favorite. I love the texture, formula and the scent.

Let’s talk about the fragrance first, Chilli Mango & Tonka Bean. It’s light, yet spicy, and reminds me of fruit cocktail. Each time I use it, it sends me back to my childhood when my mom would give us fruit cocktail.  Sounds strange I know, but it makes me happy.

In addition to loving the scent of both products, I’m also crazy about their formula. One of the things I hate most about bath scrubs is the mess they cause.  They might make my skin feel soft, but they turn my shower into a disaster. This is not the case with the Being Body Scrub. The texture is thick, so it doesn’t fall apart in the shower. It actually sticks to my skin, leaving it feeling smooth and hydrated.

After I use the scrub, I like to apply the body butter. It gives me that extra hydration my dry skin craves. My skin drinks in every bit of nourishing ingredients like shea and cocoa butter, and mango seed oil. I know I’ll be getting a lot of use of out both the scrub and body butter throughout the dry fall and winter seasons. I’m also curious to try these products out in a couple of the other Being scents.

Bon Bombs Bath Bombs

Being by Sanctuary Spa Bon Bombs

Next up we have the Bon Bomb Bath Bombs in Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom, $15. I don’t know if it’s because I have a huge bathtub or it’s formulation, but these bath bombs did nothing for me. Part of it could be because I’m not a fan of the fragrance. It smells very artificial to me.

I also have some issues with the packaging. I’m not sure if the plastic surrounding the mini bath bombs is supposed to dissolve in water or be removed first? I ended up cutting the bombs out of the plastic mine. Once they dissolved they seemed to disappear completely. Meaning, the water looked and felt like nothing was in it.

Perhaps I need to add more than two to the tub? I would be willing to try again, just in a different scent.

Tumbler & Bath Gift Set

Being by Sanctuary Tumbler Cup

The final goodie I received from Being by Sanctuary Spa is one of their Tumbler & Bath Gift Sets, $19.00. Each set comes with a Body Mist, Body Lotion, Body Wash, Loofa Sponge, and Tumbler Cup. I received the 100% Unicorn Milk Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom set.

Again, the Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom fragrance didn’t work for me. However, I am a fan of the body wash, lotion, and mist. They all pair nicely together and feel great on the skin.  I’m also happy to have a new mini loofa sponge for travel and the 100% Unicorn Milk tumbler. The label is silly and makes me laugh.

While the scent was a miss for me, the idea of the tumble set is a hit. These would make for such great gifts, especially with the holidays quickly approaching. I think they would also be great for shower thank you gifts, girl’s nights in, or for anyone who loves bath and body products.

Overall:  Being by Sanctuary Spa is a brand with whimsy and intrigue. While not every product was hit for me, I do think their bath and body line is worth checking out. I highly recommend their body scrub and body butter in Chilli Mango and Tonka Bean. I know I’ll be heading to Ulta to try out more of their products and scents in the very near future!
