Chanel Spring 2012 Makeup Collection: Harmonie de Printemps

From the break of dawn to the descent of twilight, skies reveal an enchanting array of hues with the arrival of Spring. Inspired by this brilliant seasonal change, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, infused glowing, sunlit colour into the Spring 2012 Makeup Collection, HARMONIE DE PRINTEMPS. Subtle gradations of rose, coral and peach sculpt the face, giving it a soft radiance, while rich garnets and vivid pinks dress the lips.

Blush Horizon in Eclat Douceur – $58 – Limited Edition – offers a beautiful ombré compact of five tones to highlight, bronze and blush. I was suprised how much I like this blush when I swatched it–a very pretty pigmented pink with a subtle glow. I may purchase this but ouch that price tag scares me!

In one elegant compact, five pink and peach tones mimic the luminous hues of sunset. This unique powder blush lends itself to multiple effects: blended together, the harmony is ideal for sculpting and accentuating the natural contours of the face. Using just the pink shades creates a fresh, youthful flush, while on their own, the peach tones produce a warm, sun-bronzed glow.

Poudre Universelle Compacte in Jasmin – $39 – Limited Edition – luminous beige with a touch of gold.
Les 4 Ombres  Quadra Eyeshadow ($57.00)- this is my most wanted of the collection. I love how Chanel does peaches, golds and beiges!
  • Eclosion Peach, gold, beige, plum

Chanel Eclosion Eyeshadow Quad

This picture is me test driving the Eclosion quad at my local Nordstroms. To be honest, although this eyeshadow quad is gorgeous, there was some fallout from the lightest white shade (under my brow bone and in the inner corner).  Being a neutral lover I have a lot of peach and beige eyeshadows ao I think this quad may be dupeable. I do really like the plum shade–it’s the only unique color in the quad and it doesn’t turn muddy on me. Aside from that, I have kind of reached my price limit with the Chanel quads retailing at $57. I’m on the fence on this quad–I think the shades can be easily substituted with other brands and at a $57 price point, I do NOT expect fallout! I am going to skip this one, what do you think beauties?

Comments

  1. The Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Garnet looks wonderful from the swatch I saw.

  2. I haven’t seen the quad in person yet, but just left home today, so I hope to see it tomorrow. I know my local store wouldn’t have it yet. I mean, that’s not why I went out of state, lol, but that’s not beyond me, either. Anyway, I’m hoping it’s not super special. I purchased the blush and some lip items based on swatches online, but we’ll see what I really think when I see them in person tomorrow.

  3. You have a lot of trouble resisting Chanel. The quad is beautiful though so I hope you love owning it.

    • I did resist Marcia–just used the tester aren’t you proud of me????

      • when i finally saw it at the counter, and got the pitch and saw that brown, oooo la la…i walked out with it. heat of the moment, i am so weak. but did I have to have it? I don’t know…I’ll have to use it and see. I sure hope the answer will be yes. You are stronger than I, I bow to you, Cindy!
