NARS Heartbreaker Cheek Palette Holiday 2018

Purchased by me

NARS released a studded holiday collection inspired by the “iconic punk fashion of the 1970s,” which features new lip colors and playful palettes, as well as some cult classics from the iconic brand—HELLO….. Orgasm! The NARS Holiday 2018 Collection has a lot to offer and I picked up the NARS Heartbreaker Blush Palette $42 that’s available exclusively at Ulta. Heartbreaker’s sister blush palette Ignite, includes a highlighter, bronzer and new Orgasm highlighting blush. The cult favorite in this trio is our old friend Laguna bronzer and is a Sephora exclusive but also available on the NARS website.

Back to Heartbreaker, this trio of blushes includes:

  • Luster (sheer golden apricot)
  • The iconic Orgasm (peachy pink w/ golden shimmer)
  • Amour (matte rose pink)

NARS blushes are iconic for their fabulous shades, glowiness (is that a word?) and pigmentation. Like, who hasn’t heard of Orgasm blush? I had Luster in single form in the past and gave it away why? why? I’ve missed it so getting it in this trio of best selling, permanent shades is terrific. I hit pan on a single of Orgasm a looong time ago and I wanted to revisit my old friend and then adding Amour just cinched the deal for me. Getting the palette at 20% off didn’t hurt either. 🙂

First I want to talk about the limited edition edgy studded packaging. NARS says “Uncover your inner rebel with a covetable,limited-edition series inspired by the iconic punk fashion of the 1970s. Stud your style with daring shimmer and shine; spike it with explicitly bold shades for a look that’s all attitude and no limits.”  I ordered this on the Ulta website and will admit I was disappointed at the size of the palette. I was expecting something larger, the palette is slightly smaller than my IPhone 7. However, for you math nerds, each blush is $6.25 per gram and the palette is 10.5 grams which means the Heartbreaker palette has a value of $65.63. A single NARS blush is $30, so this palette is an outstanding value!

NARS blushes are so pigmented they work on light or dark skin tones, just apply with a light hand for us fairer beauties. Luster is the most beautiful apricot shade with a touch of gold, I really don’t need to explain the iconic Orgasm do I? I think the name has become one with ‘peachy pink with golden shimmer.’ Amore is a beautiful matte rose pink. Since all the shades are in the permanent line, you may not want to purchase the palette if you already have one or two of the shades. It’s perfect for me because I don’t currently have any of the shades.

Bottom Line: I’m so glad I picked up the NARS Heartbreaker Cheek Palette. It’s a great value for three high quality, gorgeous, universally flattering best selling blush shades. This is my go-to daily blush palette and the limited edition packaging is stellar!
