Today is absolutely beautiful–62 degrees, sunny, clear blue sky and I can see my Spiraea starting to green up adn my bulb flowers are peeking through. The air smells fresh and clean so I thought it was a good time to tell you about a few new spring fragrances I’m loving.

I’ve been a long time fan of fresh since the beginning, from their fragrances to the eponymous Sugar lip treatments. This fragrance has me charmed as well. fresh Cannabis Santal Eau de Parfum was way ahead of the Cannabis/Hemp craze and was released in 2006. It’s a sensual deep, woodsy scent that features bright citruses that then give way to notes of patchouli and cannabis accord. If you love different, unique scents, you will positively fall for this!

Top Notes: bergamot, Brazilian orange, black plum
Middle Notes: patchouli, cannabis accord, rose
Bottom Notes: chocolate, vetiver, vanilla musk

I’m usually not attracted to deeper unisex scents, however, this is intoxicating! I guess it’s the citrus and vanilla that makes it more feminine than masculine for me. It immediately makes me feel sexy and strong like I could do something that I might not otherwise have the courage to do. Maybe owning my own company and sitting with a bunch of men who are MY subordinates! Climbing a mountain, running a race…you get the idea. Some perfumes tend to disappear on my skin after a few hours, but not this one! I love the way the scent lingers yet still holds that crispness. I also appreciate the sweet artisanal glass bottle. fresh Cannibus Santal Eau de Parfum is available in 30ml for $50 or 100ml for $90.

fresh also has a selection of candles in several of their scents. They are made with a premium, lead-free wick and a combination of the finest natural oils and waxes to ensure a clean burn and even fragrance dispersal.

Designers Badgley Mischka introduced the debut of their namesake fragrance in honor of the brand’s 30th anniversary last October. Much like Badgley Mischka’s design philosophy, the new fragrance is a reflection of Mark Badgley and James Michka’s appreciation for the glamorous Hollywood of the 40’s coupled with modern luxury and sophistication. Celebrities love their shimmering, opulent and glamorous gowns. The line has expanded to include day dresses, swimwear, handbags, jewelry, fragrance, shoes and accessories for us regular folks.

“Everything we do has a thread of glamour to it. When designing, we strive to make women look and feel beautiful. Perfume is a more intimate, yet subtle way of doing that,” said Mark Badgley. “A fragrance can create a mood, insire confidence and, in an instant, transform the way a woman looks and feels. We want her to feel like she’s the only woman in the room,” James Mischka continues.

Badgley Mischka opens with a softly-blended Magnolia heart which wraps around a smooth and creamy rich base. These warmer notes help to round out the fragrance while sheer amber notes offer a sense of movement.

Fragrance Notes:

  • Top: Pear Blossom, Pink Pepper, Neroli, Iris
  • Mid: Magnolia, Jasmine Absolute, Tuberose, Peony, Jasmine Sambac, Osmanthus
  • Dry: Creamy Sandalwood, Coconut Wood, Musk, Amber

This beautiful fragrance opens with a lush and dewy floral that’s light as air with a sparkling top that evokes effortlessly feminine glamour. The moment the soft magnolia blends with warm notes of musk and amber, it unveils a timeless touch of elegance.

Decidedly feminine, I ADORE this fragrance! Where fresh Cannabis Santal is sexy and sensual Badgley Mischka is the softer, more romantic type of sexy. When I wear this I imagine myself at a High Tea with the Royals or at a garden party.

We HAVE to talk about the gorgeous falcon! Badgley Mischka selected an elegant sleek multifaceted glass design to represent an amethyst jewel. The glass is bordered in rich gold. James Mischka says “The lilac shade reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor’s eyes….her eye color was so unique and iconic, I see her eyes every time I look a the bottle.”

You’ll notice my bottle is signed by both Mark Badgley and James Mischka–how lucky am I??? Available in 100ml $115, 30ml $60 and purse spray $28 at BadgleyMischka.com and Dillard’s. This is unquestionably going to be my spring signature scent!

If you’re as big a fan of the original Flowerbomb as I am, prepare to be blown away by Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb MidnightThe latest edition to the Flowerbomb family is the most transformative floral explosion yet! Flowerbomb Midnight features Night-Blooming Jasmine, an exotic highly scented flower that blooms only at night. The warmer the summer nights, the more intense the scent.

Key Notes:

  • Night-Blooming Jasmine (an exotic highly scented flower that blooms only at night)
  • Blackcurrant
  • Musk & Vanilla

“Flowerbomb Midnight is a suspenseful moment of supreme mystery, sensuality, femininity, power, and transformation. The truest form of self and expression, your unapologetic self… at midnight.”

This is a precious combination of two distinct accords: mysterious, Night-Blooming Jasmine and second-skin Patchouli and Musk. When mixed, they produce a mystifying fragrance full contrasts: black and white, floral and sensual, sparkling and intimate. The powerful fruity notes of Blackcurrant and Pomegranate accord sparkle against the floral heart dominated by NightBlooming Jasmine. Bergamot adds a fresh, zesty note enhanced by spicy, aromatic Pink Pepper. Praline accord, Patchouli, Vanilla soft accord and powdery White Musk blend into a creamy, lingering trail.

This is a strong, bold fragrance that will get you noticed. It’s an in-your-face sexy for a woman who exudes her strength, confidence and knows her true self. This ‘ain’t no sugary sweet teen scent girlfriend, it’s made for us more mature WOMEN. Personally, I only wear it at night as I feel it’s too powerful for daytime but I still am obsessed. It’s also long lasting which I want and NEED in a quality designer fragrance–I’m looking at you Marc Jacobs!

The bottle has been described as “a black diamond grenade.” That’s a perfect explanation. The sleek, ultra-modern midnight black facetted shape looks fierce and powerful. Adorned with the signature Flowerbomb metallic pink cap, nameplate and iconic Viktor&Rolf black seal, Flowerbomb Midnight comes for the first time in a black box, embellished by the brand’s signature pink ribbon.

Giorgio Armani Sì Passione Eau de Parfum combines intense vanilla with the blooms of rose, heliotrope and jasmine to create a sparkling, fruity floral scent for woman who are passionate, feminine and free. The striking red color of the bottle captures the essence of passion, and in Mr. Armani’s own words, is “an irresistible combination of grace, strength and independence of spirit”. I haven’t tried this one myself but would like to! $68/ 30mL/GiorgioArmaniBeauty-USA.com

On my wishlist is Cartier Carat ($145, 3.4 fl. oz., Cartier.com), a brilliant bouquet illuminated by seven floral tones. Inspired by the many facets of a diamond, Cartier In-House Perfumer, Mathilde Laurent’s newest creation celebrates Springtime joy, bringing together seven dazzling colors into a single, clear and pure white scent. Faceted like a diamond, the bottle captures and fractures the light in myriad colors.

From bold to bashful, you’ll want to sniff these sexy spring fragrances for yourself!
