A Method

You may remember that I have been doing at-home microneedling (more on this later). You are supposed to do one session a week but I have only done 5 sessions because I’ve been sick with one thing or another all summer. Anyway, rolling little stainless steel needles into your skin can cause some issues as you can imagine!

A Method

The A Method Soothe HC Arnica Recovery Balm $50-140 appeared on my doorstep at just the right time. This cream is made specifically for post-procedure skin to minimize the appearance of redness and to help calm skin that may be stressed due to the nature of the procedure.

These key ingredients help to hydrate and soothe stressed post- procedure skin with the following benefits:

  • Relieves discomfort and minimizes swelling with 12% Arnica Montana.
  • The addition of 1% hydrocortisone helps alleviate itching, erythema and inflammation.
  • Skin hydrating hyaluronic acid helps minimize trans-epidermal water loss.
  • Coconut milk, rich in Vitamins A and C, copper and protein help nourish and restore elasticity.
  • A blend of rose hip seed oil, glycerin and shea butter ensures optimal hydration and restores the skin’s natural barrier.

Ingredients: Water, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Cannabidiol (CBD Isolate), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Hyaluronic Acid, Zinc Sulfate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid.

Before microneedling, the roller needs to be sanitized. The instructions said to pour alcohol over the roller and let it dry. Well…..I guess I didn’t read carefully, because the roller wasn’t completely dry when I started rolling on my skin so I was actually inserting alcohol directly into my skin. Ack! The result was red, dry, itchy skin. I also think I pressed the needles into my skin too aggressively so there’s that.

Soothe HC

The A Method Soothe HC Arnica Recovery Balm saved my skin and my sanity. It immediately eliminated my uncomfortable itchy skin and soothed the redness. After using this cream for a few short days, my skin was feeling better and the redness was gone. Remember, it is post procedure and shouldn’t be used for longer than 5-7 days.

After using Soothe HC for 5 days, I switched to Soothe Daily Arnica Balm for more moisture to combat my still dry skin. This is close to Soothe HC but for daily use. There is also a 3-pc. post-treatment kit available.

Bottom Line: the A Method Soothe HC Arnica Recovery Balm made a huge difference in healing and calming my skin after my first microneedling diabolical. Highly recommended!
