Truth be told, Benefit Cosmetics products can be hit or miss for me. One thing, however,  that the brand always seems to get right is blush. The Box o’ Blushes are almost iconic within the bountiful bevy of beautiful blushes (like that alliteration?)  Grab your baton, white boots and headdress girls, ‘cuz Benefit Majorette Blush is marching into stores!

New this fall, Benefit is introducing Majorette ($28), a cream-to-powder blush in a peachy-pink shade. I can only recall one other time Benefit offered a cream blush and that was Fine One One which I found too sticky and shimmery. So for me, this was a highly anticipated launch!

From Benefit: “Pep, poise & popularity! Majorette is your cream-to-powder booster blush. Wear this peppy pink-peach shade alone or under your favorite blush for an instant “pep-up.”

Majorette is a Major hit! It’s creamy, provides a very natural looking flush, and is über lightweight. Ultra creamy in the pan, the minute Majorette touches your skin, it turns into a silky powder–and I mean silky: this blush will NOT appear dry or cakey like a powder, it literally melts into your skin and imparts a healthy glow. The texture makes it perfect for us over 40 gals!! It won’t accentuate lines or pores, there is no glitter or overt shimmer to settle into lines.

Majorette is pretty near to perfect as far as texture is concerned. It blends extremely well with just fingers and is easily buildable. I used 2-3 pats, if you’re going for a more natural I’ve-just-been-out-in-the-garden/I’m-just-naturally-this-gorgeous look use a little less, like I said–it builds up without looking like you have layers of product on. It is described as a peachy-pink, but I honestly see no pink in this pan or on my skin. My skin tone is warm/neutral so cool toned beauties may see more pink than I do. For me, it’s a lovely orangey peach shade–not coral or pink, but straight up peach. Those with darker skin tones will definitely need to layer to get color OR use Majorette as a base and layer a powder blush on top! The first time I wore Majorette it didn’t last as long as I would have hoped, the second time (when I applied a bit more) it lasted a good 12 hours.

On to the darling packaging! The plastic compact has scalloped edges and flips open to reveal a full sized mirror. The blush is protected by a plastic lid which easily removes when you’re ready to use it. The blush itself has a cute sunburst embossed design. As I mentioned before, I used my fingers to apply, but if you prefer a fibre brush would work well too. Again, I’m astonished at how creamy smooth this blush is without being tacky or sticky–it one of Majorette’s best features! This blush is ideal on the apples of the cheeks for a seamless pop of color. Benefit excels at packaging and fun names; the fun surprise with Majorette is the fruity fragrance of peach and pomegranate!

I’m grabbing my Majorette Megaphone and shouting “Majorette Blush is a M-U-S-T Have.” Especially for over 40 women to bring back that innocent blush you got when you were asked to the prom. Remember? I still do!

Bottom Line: if peach is your color, you enjoy a youthful pop of color that looks seamless and natural and you like cream blushes–you MUST try this! Recommended for Over 40 beauties!

  15. Very pretty! I’ve never really tried that many Benefit products. That needs to change!

  16. I have always liked cream blushes (probably because I learned early on that I could use a swipe of lipstick blended in for blush in a pinch) but this one looks a little warm-toned for me. I love peach, but it doesn’t always love me back!

  17. I have a lot of yellow undertones so this is not a color for me, I do more browns and deeper tones. I like the fact that it is a cream and would layer nicely. Nice review 🙂

  18. That’s a pretty color.
