BoxyCharm continues to be my favorite beauty sub box, I’m always happy with it. It costs $21/month but the value is much, much higher. You get 5-6 beauty items each month that include nail care, skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more with at least 4 of those items being full-sized. The box ships to the US and Canada. Each box has a theme with a card detailing the items inside. You can cancel at any time, but I doubt you’ll want to!

Sadly, the October 2019 BoxyCharm was slightly disappointing. No complaints, it’s just most boxes thrill me to bits so compared to that, it’s very pedestrian. After Dark is the theme though it seems a very loose theme to me. I would expect something a little more glam and with some sparkle for After Dark. With the items I received, the theme should be more along the lines of “Everyday.” Let’s take a look!

Dose of colors Baked Browns

Dose of Colors Eyeshadow Palette $32. Baked Browns is a 5-pan palette of warm all matte shades with a buttery feel. These shades work on their own or in combination with shimmers from different palettes. It’s a great workhorse of a palette to create looks from every day to smoky. Included is a nice double-sided brush. Are the shades earth shatteringly unique? No, but consider them a basic of your eyeshadow collection like a basic turtleneck is to your winter wardrobe.

  • Tea Light – Off white
  • Deserted – Sandy Caramel Beige
  • Outdoorsy – Tawny peachy brown
  • Cherrywood – Reddish rusty brown
  • Rock Bottom – Chocolate Brown

Iconic London Prep-Set-Glow $29. Prep-Set-Glow is a gorgeous hydrating mist that feels refreshing and contains light-reflecting properties that gives the skin an ICONIC glow. Extracts of cucumber and chamomile provide soothing properties. If that isn’t enough it’s also rich in antioxidants, Green Tea and Vitamin E which helps to condition your skin. Available in Original, a champagne shade and Glow, a bronze shade. 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

Iconic London Prep Set & Glow

One of my drawers is full of hydrating mists, primer mists, setting mists, etc. so honestly, I thought “not another one.” However, this adds such a pretty glossy (not in a bad way) glow. It is sticky for a few minutes so let it dry down if using as a base.

Iconic London Sex Kitten

Iconic London Lip Plumping Gloss $26. Not sure if this actually plumps, but it definitely makes lips look fuller. There is fresh minty tingle that feels wonderful and I’m here for the high shine finish! Sex Kitten is a deep berry shade, there are 6 shades and I would have preferred a lighter shade. LOVE that it’s’ not sticky!

Paula' Choice 2 % BHA Exfoliant

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant $29.50. A gentle, non-abrasive, leave-on exfoliant removes dead skin cells and cleans pores for smooth radiant skin. My third bottle, this will be going in a giveaway, I prefer AHA’s for my mature skin.

Hollywood In Vine Velvety Touch Smooth Kohl Eyeliner $7 beacons the giveaway box with the eleventy billion other black eyeliners I have. Really BoxyCharm? A black eyeliner? You can do better than that!

Bottom Line: My box has a value of $123.50 but I won’t use 3 out of the 5 products I received. Bummer. Still, it’s worth way more than $21 for the two items I really like. I’ve been a subscriber for over a year and this is the first box I’m kind of meh over.
