There are a few things I have learned from working in a hair salon. One is to use a clarifying shampoo every week. My brand of choice is Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo $26. Styling products, dry shampoo and hairspray to name a few, build up in our hair and on our scalp so a detoxifying/clarifying shampoo is essential to eliminate product residue and buildup. Using a shampoo like this is really important for healthy hair.

Bumble & Bumble’s Sunday Shampoo is a deep cleanser that lifts away product residue, excess oil, and built-up pollutants for a fresh, clean start. Key ingredients are:

Panax Ginseng Root Extract: Astringent for hair and scalp

Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract: Scalp stimulant,anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory

Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract: Cleanser, scalp stimulant

Tetrasodium EDTA: Detoxifying agent

My hair and scalp feel SO, SO clean. Honestly, my hair has never felt this squeaky clean and soft! I have to use so many products to get my fine to have any volume: roof lifter, texture spray, thickening spray and hairspray. Sunday Shampoo gets rid of all those products that have built up during the week without leaving my hair dry and stripped. It works into a beautiful lather and smells fresh and clean. I don’t even get flyaways which is a miracle in itself!

A lot of us are trying not to wash every day so a detoxifying shampoo makes a lot of sense. I liken it to a once a week face scrub. I use Sunday Shampoo once a week on Sunday, but it works any day of the week–wink, wink. It is made to be used on fine to medium, curly or straight hair. It is a bit pricy but when you consider that you use it only once a week, it’s not so bad.

Bottom Line: Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo is a staple in my shower for clean, healthy hair!

You are so right, Cindy! It is so important to use a good clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup periodically!

  3. I used to use this years ago and agree that it really helped get rid of the gunk. I think my keratin treatment is grown out but I should ask.

  4. I wash my hair once a week, so I rarely use a clarifying shampoo.

I used to love this, but don’t use it anymore as it isn’t great for coloured hair.
