Summer is officially in gear and the BBQ’s and day parties are in full swing. Sometimes you may not have time to get a pedicure or just want to save a little scratch and do your own toes instead of going to the salon. Either way, don’t neglect the bottoms of your feet! It’s important to remove dead skin cells and keep them silky smooth at all times (especially during summer). See below for tips and an at-home spa treatment from celebrity manicurist Skyy Hadley.

What you need:

  • Brown sugar- 2tbsp
  • Lemon juice- 1tsp
  • Honey- 1tbsp
  • Olive oil- 1tbsp
  • Medium bowl filled with warm water

First, take a small bowl and mix all of the ingredients above to form a smooth paste. Then soak your feet in the water for about 10 minutes until they are clean. Take your homemade scrub and begin to exfoliate your feet with them still submerged in the water by rubbing your hands on them in a circular motion. Finally, rinse your feet off and feel how smooth they are!

What do you do to keep your feet sandal-worthy?

  1. I give myself at-home pedicures. I have made scrubs in the past, even as gifts.

I usually do the mouthwash/vinegar soak and it works like a charm. But I just got my toenail polish redone and I don’t want it to fade so this may be what I try next. Thanks for the recipe

This is the first time I’ve lived in somewhere that I might take off my shoes all summer….I[m thinking I’m definitely in need of an exfoilating and softening treatment.

  9. I’ve not done a special scrub for my feet, but it does sound nice! I love a nice foot massage!

  10. This sounds great!

  11. This is almost exactly like the one I use, but I use coconut oil instead of olive oil and love it. 🙂
