Lip balm is a vital part of my lip care routine. It keeps my lips hydrated and nourished. I’ve tried a lot of different lips balms, but none as unique as Doctor Lip Bang’s Lip Freak electrifying lip balm. This 100% natural, cruelty-free lip balm is billed as “The Strongest Buzzing Lip Balm in the Whole World.” And after trying both their regular and tinted balm, I can safely say this claim is true.
The Buzz of Doctor Lip Bang’s Lip Freak
Initially, I was drawn to Doctor Lip Bang’s products because of the packaging. It has a fun retro, Steampunk feel with its top-hat adorned, goggle wearing, mustachioed skull, and clock part iconography. Little did I know I was in for a buzzing good time. When the packaging says your lips will feel electric, they weren’t kidding.
The Doctor Lip Bang’s Lip Freak balms come in two varieties, tinted and untinted. I received one tinted balm in Nude Attitude and two regular balms in Sin-O-Mint and Berry Sinister. Sin-O-Mint has a nice minty scent and Berry Sinister has a sweet berry scent. Nude Attitude is a universally flattering peachy nude with a minty scent. All three feature the signature buzzing feeling.
The buzz of Doctor Lip Bang’s Lip Freak balms comes from a proprietary, patent-pending blend of essential oils such as Sweet Almond, Sweet Orange, Ginger, and Cinnamon. Not only does this blend provide a buzz, it also helps moisturize and nourish lips.
The buzzing did take me off guard during my first application. It kind of sneaks up on you. Hence why the packaging says BEWARE: NOT FOR CRYBABIES! Although it can be intense, it’s not overly so. After using the Doctor Lip Bang’s Lip Freak balms several times, I don’t mind the buzzing. It’s kind of a fun tingling feeling on my lips that does dissipate in about 15 minutes.
Another aspect of these balms I really appreciate is that they are cruelty-free, gluten-free and 100% natural. However, because they are made from Beeswax, they aren’t vegan or recommended for people with bee allergies.
Although the brand claims the balms aren’t lip plumpers, I do notice a bit of plumping happening on my lips at least in first 15 minutes or so. But mostly, I just love how hydrated my lips feel long after the balm has worn off or been wiped off during eating. (Doctor Lip Bang’s products are available at a variety of retailers. Visit their website to find a location near you.)
Would you try Lip Freak? What do you think of a buzzing lip balm?
I’m surprised at how “buzzing” the lip balm is without being billed as a plumper – why would they amp up the mint then? For me I think this balm would be a great idea to apply before laying down a lippie. You got great plumping effects!I use lip balm to soothe my lips, and not all the time, so I don’t think the tingling would feel good.
