Easy Hairstyles for Busy Moms!

With Mother’s Day right around the corner we’re reminded how busy moms are and they are always putting others first. Chasing around the kids and working shouldn’t mean sacrificing your looks. Here are FIVE quick and effortless “do’s” for mom to try.

Step 1: Tie the hair in a low pony at the nape of your neck. This is easy for the days you want to impress by not making a big fuss at all.

Step 2: Loosen the pony near the neck and make a gap in-between the two. Flip the pony in-between the two sides.

Step 3: Do this twice giving beautiful twists and keeping the hair off the face.

Step 4: This is how you do the Topsy Tail. Finish off this look with spraying the front with hair spray.

Step 1:  Part the hair from the side of the head and divide it into 3 pieces.

Step 2:  Working your way around the head every time, add a section from the inside to the braid. First time is hard and then easy to achieve.

Step 3:  When you get to the neck end, continue with a normal braid. With the other side section of the hair you can make a braid.

Step 4: To finish off this look, twist the two and pin it up at the back.

3.)    TOP KNOT

Step 1:  All you need is elastic and a hair pin to create the perfect top knot.

Step 2:  Tie your hair back on top of your head.

Step 3: Twist the hair in a bun on top of the head.

Step 4:  I like it when it looks slightly softer and not like a perfect ballet bun.

Step 1:  Twist back a small section of hair from one side of your head, and secure it with a pin in the middle of your head.

Step 2:  Twist back a small section of hair from the other side of your head, tuck it behind the first twisted section, and pin it in the middle of your head.

Step 1:  Pull hair into a low ponytail, then loosely braid the length of hair and secure with a clear elastic.

Step 2:  Wrap the braid around the base of the ponytail like you would a bun, tucking in the loose ends of hair with bobby pins.

  1. I so love these ideas! Normally my default lazy hairstyle would be a classic ponytail or if I’m feeling it, then I do different kinds of braids. I’m totally trying the other hairstyles on this list once my hair grows back! I cut it due to the super warm weather we’ve been having.

My hair isn’t long enough for any of these ‘dos but I love them. I wish I had had Amelia do my hair in a side French braid back when I had long hair and she braided it for me. I’m so glad braids have come back in style

  3. I love all of these. I might give a few a try!

  4. Christine Cox says

I wish I could braid, but my hair is just too short to do any of these styles with. I end up just pulling it back by the sides a bit if I want something different.

  5. My hair is too short for any of these but when I was young I would have enjoyed some of these tips.

  6. I love making a topsy tail pony. It looks interesting, but is no work at all. I’ve been wearing braids more often lately, and really like them, even if they’re not as easy to see with my curls.

  7. I would love to do all the cool braids I see all over, but I’m all thumbs when it comes to braiding lol.

I really like this looks. The side braid is my favorite of them.

  9. My hair is a little too short for these hairstyles but being short means it’s always super easy!

  10. Shannon Graham says

I was just thinking about researching different styles for my long hair. I needed change and these are some great ideas.

  11. I love different hair styles like these… I tend to wear my hair in a bun often because I like my hair off my neck as much as possible, but I love switching it up at all possible 🙂

  12. Annemarie LeBlanc says

I just had my long hair cut really short about a month ago. I want a hairstyle that is easy to maintain. I guess I got tired of wearing my hair in a bun or ponytail. These hairstyles you featured here are nice too. Maybe when my hair grows long again, I would try some of these.

  13. I love the look of twisted halo! I used to rock that style often when I still had long hair 🙂

  14. Lisa Rios says

Being a work from home mom & having couple of naughty kids around, I would love these simply yet awesome hairstyles that looks amazing. The Top Knot & the Topsy Tail pony are my favorites among these.
