Frugal Friday – Aveeno Calming Makeup Wipes

I have a confession to make–I use makeup wipes more often than I should. There I said it. I get lazy and don’t want to spend the time I should on my entire skincare routine. I know, I know –bad, bad beauty blogger! The problem with most makeup wipes is that most of them are drying and don’t do a good job on eye makeup. If I have to use a separate eye makeup remover, then it defeats the convienience of the wipes. If fact, until I tried Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes, I’d never used a makeup wipe that didn’t dry my skin out.  This is why they are so great:

  • Oil-free with ACTIVE NATURALS® Calming Feverfew to leave sensitive skin feeling soothed and balanced
  • Safe for daily use
  • Remove dirt, makeup, oil and even mascara
  • Alleviate redness and skin irritations

Honestly, these are the best wipes I’ve used and I have tried a lot! For a long time I used Say Yes to Blueberries–they were great for brightening my skin but terrible for removing eye makeup and they were drying. The Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes actually feel good, even after a few hours of using them! They are especially nice for us over 40 women because they are so gentle to the skin but still get the job done!

The packaging is great and at $6.99 I will be putting one in my gym bag, one in my desk drawer at work and one in my nightstand.

  1. Ok, must-have. You convinced me! Thanks for another fantastic review!

  2. These look great! I love using wipes to clean off makeup (or just my face) after a workout, and especially in the summer heat! I’ll definitely have to check these out!

  3. I did a very long series on reviewing facial wipes. You are so correct about most not being all that skin friendly. My favorites are Forever 21’s lavender wipes and Ulta’s facial wipes.

  4. I was surprised how much I liked these. I’m using them often now. They are soothing and do the job well. These have moved to the top of my list for makeup wipes!

  5. Aveeno make-up wipes are the only wipes I like. Most of these wipes don’t do a good job with eye-makeup (like you already pointed out) and leave my skin feeling sticky. I prefer the old fashioned milk/tonic combo, but when flying these are the make-up wipes I take with me in my carry-on bag.

  6. Do you experience the urge to rinse your face with water afterward? Or am I the only one who does this with facial wipes? Thus basically defeating the purpose (I know!).
