Frugal Friday: Get a Golden Glow with Hard Candy!

Hard Candy is an incredibly affordable makeup brand sold exclusively at Walmart. We here at Prime Beauty are fans of the line: I love their baked blushes and Blythe loves their lip glosses. I have a few new launches for you today.

We’ll start out glowing with the new Just Glow! Baked Highlighting Trios ($9). There are four colors available:

  • Meet Me in Tahiti- white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold
  • Crusin’ the Coast – a mix of peaches and corals
  • A Touch of Midnight – a blend of pinks
  • Rooftop Rendezvous – lavender shades (I think, haven’t seen this one)

I have Meet Me in Tahiti which is the most traditional of the trios. The three shades really are pretty and have no chunky glitter. You can create a subtle glow or build up for a blinding sheen. These can be applied one at a time, mixed together or layered. The trios come with a decent brush–a really nice addition at this price point! My only complaint is that the plastic packaging (at least mine) is very hard to open.

Hard Candy Metal Glaze Liquid Metallic Foil ($5) is a metallic liquid that can be worn on eyes, brows and lips. Infused with coconut water for hydration, this intense foil is smudge-proof, budge-proof and gives up to 12 hours of wear. I would never wear these on my brows or lips but the eyes Yaaaaasss. I have Gold, which is kind of an antique gold and it really, really lasts! Make sure you use a good waterproof makeup remover or you will be rubbing your eyes a lot! Also available in Burgundy, Rose Gold, and Silver.

Stroke of Gorgeous Long-Wear Eyeliner Pencil ($5) provides vibrant color that glides on and lasts all day. They are creamy and soft for blending and then dry down to a finish that does NOT budge. There are 16 shades divided into 5 finishes: creamy matte, shimmer, chrome, high-intensity brights and glitter. I have Gold Nugget, a pale gold that I love on the lower lash line or lower waterline. I’ll probably pick up a few more fun colors like Kryptonite, a bright green, Ice Queen, a shimmery iridescent white/silver, Bronze Champion, another chrome shade and one of the bright blues. At $5 each you can grab a bunch and let your creativity flow!

The next time you’re at Walmart, wander over to the beauty aisle and check out Hard Candy, you’re sure to find something you like!
