Most of us like to change up our makeup routine in the summer. I’d rather spend more time outdoors than making up my face, but like the demanding and vain woman I am, I still want to look my best–I know you understand. So, inevitability I switch from my regular foundation to a tinted moisturizer. Now, in the past I have been reluctant to use a tinted moisturizer because I felt at over 50 (yikes!) I need more coverage than the average tinted moisturizer provides. For the past several summers I’ve been using Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and been quite happy with it—until now. I have finally found my HG (holy grail) of tinted moisturizer in FusionBeauty PrimeResults ($40)!!!   I cannot tell you how thrilled I am. Truly!

PrimeResults has everything I want and need in a tinted moisturizer and more!

  • SPF 15–a MUST!
  • Built-in primer
  • Super lightweight texture
  • Peptides to help prevent aging or in my case, to minimize lines and wrinkles
  • Increased Hydration
  • Extremely natural looking coverage

Gush Alert: Get ready ladies, Imma gonna rave! I absolutely love this TM and have been using it pretty much every day since it arrived. It feels exactly like a silicone based primer–smooth and hydrating–I can almost feel my wrinkles sighing and relaxing when it put it on. FusionBeauty PrimeResults Tinted Moisturizer is just what every woman over 40 needs for summer.

It does triple duty as it’s a sheer foundation, primer and SPF all in one–that saves me time and money and I’m totally on board with that. The coverage is sheer–more sheer than I would wear in the winter but that is exactly what I’m looking for in the summertime. Even with the summer oilies arriving,  PrimeResults does not slide off my face like other TM’s (and even other primers), but instead lasts all day, smooths out my lines and even provides a bit of a glow. I am truly amazed and delighted that my skin does not look like the BP oil spill landed on my face.

There are four shades; Ivory, Sand, Caramel, and Golden Beige. I frist tried Ivory which was surprisingly too light for me (in summer), so I moved up to Sand and it’s perfect for evening out my skin tone.  A wee touch of bronzer and I look like a golden goddess–well…. golden anyway. My co-worker often acts as my barometer and she said my skin blends perfectly into my neck so I know Sand is right for me. She will give it to me straight and tell me if the shade is off or I look weird, but thankfully she does it diplomatically. If I decide I want a bit more color or maybe later in summer, Caramel works beautifully without looking fake or orange. The shades seem to err on the light side; I’m not sure the darkest Golden Beige would work for the darkest of skin tones.

The packaging is a tube with a pump which I love because you can’t get too much and it stays nice and sanitary. The texture is so lightweight you will forget you have anything on your face–WIN!

According to FusionBeauty and their clinical ‘grading’, after 4 weeks of use, 66.12% saw a reduction in dryness and 74.2% of women agree that their foreheard wrinkles appeared to have decreased. 77.4% said their skin looked younger, 71% agreed that their looked more radiant, while 76% agreed their skin tone looked improved. I can truly say I found most of these results to be true for me even though I haven’t used it consistently for 4 weeks yet.

I do find that I need some concealer for my under eye area and for some redness around my nose in addition to PrimeResults. I’ve been using FusionBeauty IllumiCover Line Smoothing Luminous Concealer ($36)–these two products were made for each–they go together better than Peanut Butter and Chocolate! And really… with a name like that it had better deliver, am I right?

News Flash–it does! This ultra lightweight concealer delivers an instant boost of moisture while helping to conceal my crow’s feet and circles. Yes, I know I told you before I don’t have dark circles, but they crept up on me last week. Has that ever happened to you? You think everything is fine and then one day you look in the mirror and BAM! something happened overnight and things are verrrry different. Well, that’s what happened to me with my previously non-existant dark circles–they walloped me last week and they…NEED to go back into hiding! It’s a good thing I discovered FusionBeauty IllumiCover, in time I hope! The packaing is click pen with a small brush making it easy to get into corners of the eye. The click pen is efficient and saves from wasting product.

Anyway, the formula includes optical diffusers to brighten the eye area and help conceal those horrid dark circles. Other ingredients that provide long term benefits include:

  • Matrixyl 3000– sounds like a new car doesn’t it? This ingredient promotes collagen prodution to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles–NEED THIS!
  • Myoxinol– a botanical peptide to smooth expression lines (aka crow’s feet) by reducing muscle cell contraction–huh??
  • Syn-tacks–a combination of two unique peptides to improve the skin’s firmness over time

When clinically tested through Bio-Instrumentation, subjects exhibited a 71% increase in the appearance of under eye firmness. More than 96% saw a decrease in under eye puffiness, dark circles and felt that their skin looked younger after 8 weeks!

Also available in four shades; Fair, Light, Medium, Medium/Dark. The pale shade is a wonderful match for my under eye area, while the light shade is perfect for covering some redness on my face. For some reason (reference above dark circles) I’ve been slightly obessed with concealers lately. Admittedly, some may say my criteria is harsh; it can’t sink into lines, be thin enough to spread easily, must hydrate and last throughout the day. FusionBeauty IllumiCover Line Smoothing Luminous Concealer is my golden ticket! It spreads well, hides darkness and lasts. Perhaps the thing I like most about it is that you can’t tell you have any concealer on–it’s that….er….concealing! 🙂

  1. I tested it in Sand but had to give it to Lisa since it’s too dark for me. Your raves though make me want to get a sample of pale at Sephora.
