One of the best things about being a beauty blogger is discovering brands you may not otherwise hear about. Geisha by Bali James is one of those remarkable brands I’m so happy to have been introduced to.

Every winter my skin seems to get more and more sensitive; the front and back of my legs get really, really dry. Like the rest of the country, we have had record cold temperatures with wind. Then, it gets warm enough to snow, (in the 20°s) and out I go to shovel the driveway. All this cold and wind has made my skin dry, itchy and flakey. These Geisha Bath and Body products by Bali James have tamed my dry, winter skin and it took less than a week!

Before we get into the review, I’d like to tell you the Geisha and Bali James story:

Originally from the UK, and with a background in design, art history, philosophy and psychology, Bali James launched Geisha in 2011.  A luxuriant collection of products, they are a merger of her two distinct passions, art and beauty. Now based in Los Angeles, Bali’s far-reaching travels are reflected in the global influences evident in both the products and the lines’ unique selection of fragrances.

From Bali James: “My clients are intellectually curious and they understand that beauty goes beyond the surface,” says Bali James.  “They seek out natural products of the finest quality and consequently have made Geisha part of their beauty ritual.  My products help them feel empowered and energized  –  important components to feeling beautiful and confident.”

Showering with Geisha Body Wash in Moonflower ($38 for 16 fl. oz.) is a sensual experience. Artfully blended from aloe, coconut and fruit seed derived oils known for their moisturizing and calming qualities, Geisha Body Wash is scented with only the finest essential oils. Moonflower Body Wash delivers creamy, velvety lather with delicate floral, fruity airs of Cherry Blossom, Bergamot and Pear, with a swirl of subtle vanilla. Make no mistake, this is NOT your typical fruity floral scent–it is a warm, sophisticated fragrance that soothes the senses. I think this may be the most luxurious body wash I have ever used. It makes me want to shower three times a day just for the wonderful sensation! Also available: Moonflower Body Crème Cleanser, new spicy scent Honoka Body Wash and Honoka Crème Cleanser.

Geisha by Bali James Body Oil ($38 for 16 fl.oz) is created using only top quality cold pressed oils:  Grape Seed, Sweet Almond, Avocado and Vitamin E.  Formulated with a coconut derived skin conditioner, which facilitates the dispersion of oil in water, the result is a unique water dispersible body oil that is light in texture for immediate absorption. I got to try the best selling scent Maiko. Maiko is a heavenly scent of Fig, Lily, and green undertones. It absorbs quickly thanks to it’s lightweight texture and leaves my skin silky smooth and hydrated well into the next day. I like to apply it after I shower when my skin is still damp. The body oil is housed in a beautiful glass pump container. There are three additional fragrances: Rose Musk: Rose with a hint of Musk, Allure: Rose with a hint of Vanilla and Ritual: Hypnotic and sensual, an exotic sensation with a hint of Patchouli. Simply irresistible. Geisha’s second most popular product.

In addition to body wash & cremes, Geisha offers hand and body lotions, shea butter, perfume oils, cuticle oil, facial care and caviar body buff. All products arrive in beautifully wrapped packages. There is a Holiday Gift Set that includes a jar of Geisha Shea Butter, a Rose French Clay mask and Geisha Body Oil for $99.

Geisha is available online only here.

Bottom Line: banish dry winter skin with luxury Geisha products by Bali James! The products may seem pricey but all of them are a full 16 fl.oz.–most bath and body products are 4-8 oz. so you are getting a lot of product for the price!

Are they any bath and body treats you indulge in?
