New products from Hard Candy

Spring is finally here and with it comes that glow. You know the glow I’m talking about…when the world starts to awaken from its winter slumber to show off its many colors. It’s also when we make the transition to more dewy makeup looks. To help you achieve your perfect amount of radiance, I’m showcasing some fabulous new finds from Hard Candy.

Just Glow All Over Body Luminizer
Hard Candy Just Glow All-Over Body Luminizer

After the long winter hibernation, we’re all looking a little pale. Unless you’re like me, then you are ghost white 24/7, 365 days of the year. While I don’t mind being almost translucent, I do prefer it when my skin has a richer glow.

I found exactly what I’m looking for in the Hard Candy Just Glow All Over Body Luminizer, $9, in Champagne. This transfer-resistant, high-shine body luminizer gives my skin the beautiful, glowing from within dewiness I crave. Not only does it last all day long, but it also has a nice light coconut scent.

Each time I use it, it’s like taking a trip to a tropical island or sitting by the pool drinking a pina colada. You can wear it on its own or mix it in with your moisturizer or sunscreen, which I plan on doing all spring and summer long.

Hard Candy Just Glow Highlighting Trio

Next up we’re moving to the face, and more specifically the Make the First Mauve Highlighters. This Baked Powder Highlighting Trio, $8, feels like spring in powder form. I love the marbled texture of the pink and mauve shades. I think this is a palette that would work great on all skin tones. You have a little, medium, and darker shade.

Hard Candy Just Glow Make the First Mauve Palette

I like to use the lighter shades as a highlight and the darker as a blush (see the look pictured at the end of the post). You could also use all three as blush toppers.

In addition, the palette also comes with a brush designed specifically for the baked formula of the highlighters. It allows you to build up the color and intensity to your choosing.

Rose Gold Look Pro Eyeshadow Palette

When it comes to the glow, you can’t forget about the eyes. With the Hard Candy Rose Gold Look Pro Eyeshadow Palette, $10, you can achieve this and so much more.  This 15-pan palette features a range of mattes and shimmer shadows, as well as two double-sided brushes. You’ll also find a small mirror on the interior of the palette.

I really like the range of colors in this palette. You have rose gold shadows, pinks, mauves, golds, and cream/nudes. You can go bold with a bright pink/terra cotta look or keep it more subtle with a neutral eye look and pop of shimmer.

Hard Candy Look Pro Palette Swatches

Like other Hard Candy eyeshadow palettes I’ve tried before, the Rose Gold palette is high performing. The shadows apply smoothly and blend and build easily. They don’t crease and have great longevity. I also find the shadow names highly entertaining. They’re a mix between sweet, as in Sweet Nothing, and saucy, as in Marry Up.

Glitteratzi Eyeshadow Duo

In addition to the Rose Gold palette, Hard Candy also sent me another offering from their Glitteratzi collection. Although the Eyeshadow Duo, $7, is new to me, I have tried other products from the Glitteratzi range.

Hard Candy Glitteratzi Eyeshadow Duo

The Eyeshadow Duos, available in 12 shades, feature a liquid glitter on one side and a chrome, foil shadow on the other. While I loved the Naughty Neptune shade I received, I didn’t notice much of a difference between the two sides. The side with the glitter looks only slightly different from the chrome, but not enough to really notice on the eyes. From swatches online, it does appear this isn’t the case with some but not all the shades in the collection.

Regardless, I do really like the formula. It’s long-lasting and stays in place. I did have a little bit of creasing but only where I placed the glitter. Using a glitter glue or glitter primer to prevent this from happening.

I have to say, I find Naughty Neptune to be such a fun shade. It pairs so well with my blue eyes and adds a nice dimension to any spring look. I like to use a simple neutral in the crease and then place Naughty Neptune all over my lid.

Oopsy-Proof Makeup Eraser
Hard Candy Oopsy-Proof Makeup Eraser

Last but not least, we have the Oopsy-Proof Makeup Eraser pen, $5. This pen is designed to do exactly what its name claims it does, correct makeup mistakes. It’s a nice alternative to trying to find a cotton swab to dip in makeup remover when you need to wipe away smudges or smears.

This pen has positives and negatives. I like the convenience of the pen, but not the design. The tip is a little too flimsy for me. It’s also not that easy to clean, at least not for me. I ended up bending my pen slightly in the process as well. I think if the tip was shorter and less flexible it would work better.

Hard Candy Oopsy-Proof Makeup Eraser Usage

Overall: All these new goodies from cruelty-free Hard Candy have me excited for spring and summer. If  you’re ready to get glowing, I highly recommend picking up a the luminizer, eyeshadow and highlighting palettes, as well as trying out some of the Glitteratzi duos.
