Hellllooo Sunday Riley!

No matter what day of the week it is, it’s always time for Sunday… Riley that is!  Sunday Riley was best known for her skincare line, until her cosmetics line hit counters and bloggers quickly started buzzing.  When most brands branch out into new endeavors, they tend to start small. Not Sunday Riley, she went for the gold with a full spectrum of makeup including blush, lip gloss, tinted primer, lipstick, foundation, finishing powders, and eyeshadows. Each product comes in an array of options. We’re talking  32 eyeshadows and 23 lipstick hues, each one more beautiful than the last. And, because Sunday’s is dedicated to good skin, each product is infused with good-for-your-skin ingredients.

“This universally flattering blush gives your cheeks the perfect amount of pigment for a soft, flushed radiance. Round-shaped pigments give a silky feel and diffuse light for a smooth, luminous finish. Highlights, defines, and enhances. Paraben Free.”

So many of my bloggers friends raved about the line, I just had to try it. Unlike the products founder, I started small with one blush. The blush I chose was Honest ($30), a lovely coral–natch! This blush has a delicate luminous sheen that truly makes skin glow. I have to admit however, initially I wasn’t so entranced . Try as I might, I wasn’t able to get the color to show up on my cheeks. Now, I’m a fair lass but I’m no Nicole Kidman (in more ways than one).  I usually have the opposite problem and have to apply blush ever so lightly so as not to look sunburned or resemble a clown. A friend suggested I use the MAC Angled brush #168 and that made a HUGE difference!

Sunday Riley blushes are very finely milled, smooth and silky. They work so well with over 40 skin–no glitter or shimmer, just a luminosity that resembles a natural flush. This is what I wanted NARS Orgasm to be–not the glittery-Vegas-showgirl mess it was on my skin. These oil free blushes contains round-shaped pigments that give a silky feel and diffuse light for natural, luminous cheek color.

Packaging is what I consider middle of the road–not cheap but not luxe either. A black compact with the Sunday Riley logo embedded in gold on the cover, complete with a full size mirror.
