One of the most important tools in hairstyling is the hairbrush. It can make the difference between frizzy hair and a perfectly coiffed mane. They can also help improve styling time, which means you can get out the door quicker. That’s precisely what Hotheads Brushes promise to do – speed up styling time, detangle, add shine, and improve scalp circulation.

To test out these claims, Hotheads sent me their Grooming Paddle Plus, The Mini G Small Paddle, The Enforcer Mr Smoothy, and 3D Speed Brush ($12-$25 CAD).

Hotheads Brushes – Enforcer & Speed Brush

As someone with fine, wavy hair, I often struggle with finding round brushes that don’t cause frizz. And although I have fine hair, I have a lot of it. However, I don’t like to spend forever trying to get my hair to dry. With Hotheads brushes, I don’t have to worry about frizz or slow dry time.

Hotheads Brushes - Round Brushes

Designed for all hair types, the Speed Brush and The Enforcer Mr Smoothy help reduce drying time and frizz, while improving shine and increasing volume. Their unique design and 3D bristles also work to protect your hair from heat damage. The end result is smooth, shiny, voluminous hair.

After trying both brushes, I can’t say I have a favorite. They both are equally good and do a nice job of helping me create the perfect blow out. I especially liked their soft handles, which are comfortable to handle and easy to use. I also find that the Hotheads brushes do improve drying time and never cause frizz. Each time I style my hair with these brushes it looks shiny and full of a decent amount of volume.

Next up we have The Grooming Paddle Plus Brush and The Mini G Small Paddle Brush. Like the round brushes, these brushes also feature Hotheads’ 3D bristle technology. They are suitable for all hair types and can be used on wet or dry hair.  As result, these Hotheads brushes are designed to reduce frizz and increase shine. They also help to improve circulation and exfoliation of the scalp.

While I like the way these brushes feel on my scalp, I don’t love what they do to my hair. I often found they flattened out my style, especially on top. They also increase the static in my hair, which made my hair more difficult to style. Although they are designed for all hair types, I think these brushes would work better on thicker hair or straight hair.

Overall: Hotheads brushes offer unique 3D bristle technology that reduces frizz and styling time. If you’re looking to create the perfect blowout, I highly recommend picking up their Speed Brush or The Enforcer Mr Smoothy.
