Jane Iredale’s Spring 2019 Collection is titled Sun, Here It Comes and I can’t think of anything more apropos. The collection is full of clean formulas and brilliant color to highlight nature’s fresh beauty. The collection features NEW richly pigmented hues to illuminate eyes, cheeks and lips with dazzling shimmer and shine! I’ve featured Jane Iredale products and collections on the blog previously, but if you’re not familiar with the brand, it is a line of clean makeup:

  • Non-comedogenic formulas won’t clog pores
  • Dermatologist and allergy tested

  • Their SPF products are recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation as effective broad spectrum sunscreen

The Sun, Here It Comes Collection includes a NEW Eye Shadow Kit, Eyebrow Kit, Contour Kit, new shade of Blush and 3 new Gloss shades. This collection is full of sunshiny hues and summer brights for a sunkissed look.

The new Eye Shadow Kit in Solar Flare $59 has all the warm drenched goodness of a summer sunset. The palette consists of a large base and four super saturated, coordinated shadows for a bronzed goddess look. Each shadow has just a touch of shimmer to make eye shine and glow. The packaging is the typical luxe gold compact with mirror for the eye shadow kit as well as the blush.

The shades are:

  • Aurora –  is a pretty cream perfect for the brow bone and inner corner or for use as a pretty highlighter
  • Sunspot – a beautiful peachy gold shimmer
  • Corona – shimmery deep taupe
  • Flash – gorgeous shimmery copper
  • Cosmic – warm shimmery brown with burgundy undertone

If you’re thinking that Solar Flare is similar to Naturally Glam, you would be correct, however, there are major differences like Corona, Flash and Cosmic.

Solar Flare
Naturally Glam

These are swatched dry without primer and you can see the great color payoff. The texture of the shadows is buttery soft and they are easy to blend. However, be prepared for them to kick up a bit of powder– it doesn’t affect the performance and there is no fallout. They did not crease, however, if you have oily eyelids you may want to use a primer.

For this eye look I used Aurora as a base and under the brow bone, Sunspot on the lid, Flash in the crease, Cosmic in the outer corner and to line upper and lower lash line. Please disregard my poor, poor lashes. I tried lash extensions and took them off because I couldn’t keep up with the time and monetary commitment and they are growing back. Yuck!

Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush ($30) should be in every over 40 woman’s makeup bag.  I know that’s a big statement but the finish is perfect for older skin.  The new Sunset shade is a gorgeous guava with subtle gold shimmer. I don’t know about you, but I am tired of super shimmery blushes that highlight every pore I have, they don’t look natural and I don’t think the overly shimmery blushes are flattering to older skin. Sunset is an ideal warm summer shade that makes you look you just came from the beach–minus the sunburn!

Next up is the Jane Iredale PureGloss Lip Gloss in Spiced Peach $26. This long-lasting, sheer tint of delicious coral features an ultra-glossy opaque finish without feeling tacky. Hydrating moringa butter and avocado oil make lips feel conditioned, moisturized, quenched and nourished. I adore this shade, it screams summer and is so comfortable to wear! There are 2 more new shades–Blossom, a hot pink and Pink Glace, a sheer cool pink with shimmer. These have a candy scent that disappears quickly and are housed in a squeeze tube.
