It’s far too soon for summer to wane, yet here we are in September. One way to hold on to the essence of summer is by continuing to wear a summer fragrance and Jimmy Choo’s Illicit Flower is a perfect choice.

The next step in the Jimmy Choo Illicit journey, Illicit Flower is the flirtatious Eau De Toilette follow-up to the Eau De Parfum. It is a “modern floriental” developed by perfumer Anne Flipo and features Sky Ferreria. I know I’m showing my age, but I have no clue who Sky Ferreria is. I did a little research and she is a singer, model and actress.

Says Sky “I’ve never had a set way of doing things which works because it’s always exiting, always different. I believe every woman should live the life she dares, I don’t set boundaries for myself and my music is similar–a bit edgy but lots of fun; just like the fragrance. Scents are very important to me and Illicit Flower evokes sensuality and confidence. I spray t before I play on stage and my nerves disappear.”

Top Notes: Apricot, Mandarin and Freesia

Heart: Rose, Grapefruit flower and Jasmine

Bottom: Musk, Sandalwood and Cashmeran

Juicy apricot and zesty mandarin are crushed over the floral heart notes of rose, grapeflower and jasmine to create a fresh, sparkling scent. The scent opens with a fizzy effervescence and then settles into a sugary rose. I don’t detect anything edgy or sensual. The bottom notes are supposed to smooth any acidity from the sweet citrus notes. They do a good job of that, however I don’t think the musk and sandalwood bring the warmth this scent needs.

The bottle is chic and elegant with it’s chunk art-deco design and the pretty rose colored fragrance inside. Even the box is well designed: pink metallic studded with a grey logo.

Available at Macy’s, macys.com, Nordstrom and nordstrom.com

Bottom Line: if your looking for a light, fun, easy to wear fragrance, you might find Jimmy Choo Illicit Flower hits the mark!
