Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow for Eyes That Glow!

“Living on the beach in Oahu, I became a devotée of coconut water, and noticed that drinking lots of it seemed to make my skin glow. I created Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow to bring that hydration plus loads of color to the lids.”—Josie Maran

Hallejuah beauties! Finally a shimmery eyeshadow that is good for your skin and won’t make your eyelids look crepey! How is this different from a cream eyeshadow? It’s made with coconut water in TWO layers: the first delivers fresh coconut water, and the second provides a layer of argan-infused pigments to give eyes a more youthful appearance and minimize the appearance of fine lines. And it works!

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow ($18) is nothing short of amazing! It doesn’t crease, settle in lines and lasts longer than a speech from Donald Trump. These are made with 50% water to impart 100% hydration. The pigment is brilliant and can be opaque or sheered out to be age appropriate for us over 40 girls.

Swatching these gave me a bit of a fright because they are so metallic I thought they would make my eyes look like the Crypt Keeper. Remarkably, they are very flattering and do NOT settle into my crepey eyelids. There is absolutely NO fallout or creasing and no primer needed. At all. They also last for more than 12 hours. Just shake to mix the layers and apply with enclosed dropper/doe foot applicator, then pat to set– NO primer needed! Work quickly because it sets in a New York minute. The more you pat, the less metallic sheen will appear so it can be sheered out. Personally, I like the sheen, it makes my eyes glow. Don’t mistake “sheen” for glitter, these have no glitter, just a lovely metallic or shimmery finish depending upon how you apply them.

The color range:

  • Maui Teal
  • Playa del Pink

Maui Teal was the first Coconut Water eyeshadow I tried and I was hooked immediately. It’s a vibrant blue/green teal that can be used on lids or as an eyeliner. It is simply stunning! Maui Teal arrived on a 100+° day; it had separated and I was afraid it was ruined but nope! It’s perfect.

I originally heard about these eyeshadows from my good friend Marcia at Beauty Info Zone and because of her review, I knew I NEEDED Rio de Rose Gold. I found and purchased Rio de Rose Gold and Beach Sand as a duo for $26 from QVC. Rio de Rose Gold is a shimmering peachy/rose gold shade makes my blue eyes pop. In fact, the first day I wore this shadow I had lunch with a friend and she commented that my eyes looked really, really blue. The next time I wore it I got more compliments! Blue and orange are opposites on the color wheel and Rio de Rose Gold does have a peachy tone to it so I guess this is MY color. I do feel my eyes glow when wearing Rio de Rose Gold.

Beach Sand is a shimmering deep brown/bronze, great for the new bronze eye trend for fall.

I finished this look with the Josie Maran Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil in Vast Violet ($18). This argan infused tinted lip treatment starts out as a cream and melts into a hydrating oil for a natural pop of sheer dewy color. As with most products that claim to be for lips AND cheeks, I doubted that it could do both things well. BUT, I tried it just for you my beauties and I was totally surprised that I actually liked it on my cheeks! It took two drops on each cheek to show up well, but it didn’t feel sticky on my face or slide off.

Vast Violet is a blue based cool violet with just a tint of color. In addition to 100% pure argan oil, it’s packed with natural oils and butters from sunflowers, tangerines, oranges and more. The formula is 97 percent natural and petroleum-free. There are six shades available and I can see myself buying more because it feels SO plush on the lips.

  1. I have never seen this kind of eye shadows before, but they look gorgeous!

  2. I have that blush and love it. The teal eyeshadow is everything

  3. Thanks for the mention. I’ve bought two of the eyeshadows so far and would buy more in a flash. They last so great on me and they can be paired with powder. The blush didn’t work for me and I didn’t like it on my lips unfortunately.
