Walmart has really expanded its beauty department in the last few years and I’m here for it. Ever since they added NYX the beauty brands seem to be multiplying.

On a recent trip to the Walmart beauty section, I spied an end cap that was full of assorted clearance items. I usually pass by these types of “bin sales” because they more often than not turn out to be junk I don’t want–not even for 99 cents. This time, however sitting right on top was this Lipstick Queen Mini Trio, regular price $22 for $7.98!

Lipstick Queen has been around a long time and I have many lipsticks I love. In recent years the brand has launched numerous “transforming” lipsticks–working with your individual Ph, they change color to create a unique shade for you. The most popular being Frog Prince.

The Lipstick Queen Mini Trio has one such transforming and best-selling shade, Mornin’ Sunshine. This amazing yellow lipstick transforms into a super flattering, super fun pink…on me that is. It starts out as a pale pink and then deepens with time. Packed with vitamin E and sunflower oil, it feels like a balm rather than lipstick. This is a fun one to have.

Saint Coral Red is a shade from the Saint Collection. The Saint Collection is 7 (correct me if I’m wrong) sheer shades that are designed for when you just want a tint of super flattering color. Each shade contains only 10% pigment, giving just a hint of long-lasting color. They can be built up for more intense color. Saint Coral Red is a warm orangy/red perfect for bright summer looks!

Saint Mauve is also from the sheer Saint Collection and is a lovely shade of mauve though it leans more berry on my lips.

None of these shades have shimmer or glitter and they are not glossy. They have a beautiful sheen to them so they are not flat. Like I said, the texture is like a balm so it is not sticky and glides on the lips. That said, don’t expect them to be long-lasting. Also, these mini tubes are quite small (maybe 2-2 1/2 in.) but that doesn’t bother me, I rarely finish a lipstick.

If you haven’t perused the Walmart beauty aisle, check it out! You might be surprised at some of the brands you can find: Hempz, Bliss, Philosophy, OPI, and more. And don’t forget about

In addition, Walmart has various new Black-Owned beauty brands, the newest, TPH hair care by Taraji P. Hensen, Luna Magic and Kim Kimble hair.

Bottom Line: I’m thrilled with the Lipstick League Mini Trio, especially for the price! Make sure you check the beauty section at Walmart!
