From the red carpet to the runway, everyone is rocking beautifully coifed curls or beachy waves. No matter what the style, it’s always worthy of envy. Though it might look effortless, like you just came from a day at the beach, achieving the look isn’t always a breeze.

Luckily, there are plenty of tools and styling products to make it a little less of a challenge. One such amazing tool, loved by celebrities and professional stylists, is The Beachwaver Co. Beachwaver S1.25 Ceramic Rotating Curling Iron, $129 (at Ulta).

Beachwaver S1.25

This new addition to the award-winning line of Beachwaver styling tools, this features a larger barrel (1.25”), as well as:

  • Adjustable heat range of 290-490 degrees
  • Adjustable fast/slow speed settings
  • Arrow button for curl rotation control
  • Home button to automatically return barrel to starting position
  • Lighter 5.5” ceramic barrel length
  • 8-foot swivel cord
  • Ergonomic handle
  • Beveled no-kink clamp

I’d seen the previous iteration of The Beachwaver demonstrated by Sarah Potempa, celebrity stylist and inventor of The Beachwaver, online. I was extremely impressed with the results. Though I didn’t purchase the styling tool at the time, the video helped me better understand how to achieve the look with my conical iron.

As much as I love my conical iron, and have learned to use it pretty well, there are still times when I almost burn myself or forget if I just curled my hair away from my face or towards my face. The Beachwaver S1.25 makes the job even easier.

Beachwaver S1.25 Controls

I don’t have to worry about burning myself because the tip of the iron is never burning hot. The arrow button makes selecting the direction of the curl so simple, and the clamp means I never have to hold my hair while I am curling it. The design is not only ergonomic, but also feels substantial, without being too heavy. I like when tools have some weight to them as it improves maneuverability.

I also have to say the addition of the “Home” button and swivel cord, along with the adjustable speed and degree settings improve the functionality, flexibility and usability of The Beachwaver S1.25

Adjusting to a rotating iron with a short clamp does take some adjustment after using a conical, but it’s nothing a little practice won’t fix. As you can see, I created two looks with The Beachwaver S1.25; one with tighter, messier beachy waves, and one with more loose waves/curls. Now if I can just figure out a way to combine the two, I would have hair perfection. Like I said, a bit more practice is in order.

Beachwaver styling

Bottom line: At $129, The Beachwaver S1.25 is a bit of an investment. While you can achieve similar beachy waves with a conical iron or sea salt sprays, the Beachwaver S1.25 makes achieving voluminous curls or beachy, boho waves quicker and simpler. It practically does the work for you, and all the extra features allow for even more personal flexibility, which is really what we all want our of styling tools.

Have you used Sarah Potempa styling tools? Are you a fan of the beachy, boho waves?
