Purchased by me

You’ve probably heard by now that the Pantone Color of the Year is MarsalaMarsala is a gorgeous combination of rich reddish browns and a wine-like hue.  Sephora  released their Marsala collection just this week which includes a lipstick, eye palette, liquid eyeliner, “cooling” multi-stick, mascara, layering lip crayon collection and a cheek trio. I purchased the cheek trio and am very happy with it. The cheek trio is a great place to start if you are thinking of trying the color Marsala.

This  exclusive, limited-edition trio features two shades of blush and a highlighter designed to complement the 2015 Color of the Year. The palette is warm toned so if you can only wear cool tones, pass this up.

The trio consists of:

Spanish Villa is a warm champagne beige shade designed to highlight cheek bones. It does emphasize pores slightly so I switched to using a duo fiber or fab brush instead of a regular blush brush.

Coral Pink is a warm peachy orange with a lovely satin finish. The texture is finely milled and smooth.

Marsala is a medium-dark terracotta with red undertones. It is very pigmented and lasts a good 8 hours. This color reminds me of one of  my favorite NARS blushes, Lovejoy although Marsala has more red in it.

I used Marsala as a contour, Coral Pink on the apples of the cheeks and Spanish Villa on top of the cheekbones.

SEPHORA + PANTONE UNIVERSE Shimmering Marsala Cheek Trio ($28) is definitely worth picking up. The texture is silky smooth, the finishes range from satin to shimmery and the shades work together beautifully. The color payoff is good and the lasting power is great. Here is the Marsala palette in action. I wearing the Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel eye palette, review coming soon!

And here is my resting bitch face just for fun. I hope I don’t make this face often, because it makes me look like I have a double chin. Serves me right I guess.
