This week’s Makeup Wars our bloggers are talking about their favorite blushes for spring. Instead of looking at new releases, I decided to shop my stash for my ride or die spring blushes. In the spring and summer, I mostly wear peachy and pink blushes so I’ve chosen my all time favs from those two groups.

NARS Deep Throat first debuted in 2012 and has become a best seller for the brand. It’s a flirty peach with a golden sheen. If you think Orgasm is too sparkly, you’ll love Deep Throat. It’s warm without being too orange or red and is an excellent color for everyday wear.

Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach is a shimmery orange/peach that was part of the Sweet Peach Collection. It’s housed in an adorable tin with a full 9 grams of product– twice the amount of the NARS blush above, for $30. It’s very pigmented and blends easily. As with the entire Sweet Peach Collection, it smells like peaches.

Soap & Glory Peach Party is a mix of peach, copper and gold pearlized pigments to impart the perfect peachy-spring/summer glow. It IS shimmery and I usually don’t do shimmery cheeks, however, I find it less than Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks. You can also add more of the darker coppery shade to create a more bronzy look.

Laqa & Co. Peachers Daughter B’Lighter is a creamy balm that melts into and reacts with the skin to create a pretty peachy shade with a bit of highlight built in. It’s way more subtle than I expected–in a good way! Its smooth application leaves a nice glow and it doesn’t feel tacky on the skin.

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher Love Glow is a universally flattering medium pink. Swish & Pop blushers are created with a pop of color in the center surrounded by a subtle shimmering shade. Love Glow does not have much contrast in the two shades so they blend together seamlessly. This has just the right amount of sheen to make cheeks glow without your pores looking like craters on the moon.

BECCA Flowerchild just might be my favorite blush of all time. It’s a medium pink with golden highlights. There is very, very micro-shimmer which results in a luminous, healthy luster rather than sparkle. I adore Flowerchild–the shade is everything that embodies spring and summer–a little pinky rosiness from the sun mixed with the flush of doing outdoor activities. It became my favorite pink blush in a heartbeat.

Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush in Clearly Pink should be in every over 40 woman’s makeup bag because it has the ideal finish is for older skin.  Clearly Pink is a bubblegum pink with an ever so subtle gold shimmer. It’s extremely flattering with the RIGHT amount of shimmer and applies like a dream. I’m really anxious to try other shades–there are 11 shades, Clearly Pink being the newest.

Benefit GALifornia is a warm golden pink with a pretty sunburst design. The gold is overspray and will disappear after you run a brush through it but you’ll still be left with a sunny glow. The blush is pigmented so if you’re pale like me, use a light hand. I think it will flatter pretty much all skin tones including deep ones.
