As a RoC® Ambassador, I am so excited to bring you the news of this fabulous contest sponsored by RoC®! The Women with MORE Essay Contest from MORE magazine. MORE magazine is excited to debut its revamped Women with MORE® contest, which is now open for entries through June 16. MORE invites readers to nominate themselves (or another female nominee) by sharing personal essays detailing what makes them women with more ambition, beauty, style or passion.

There are four categories to choose from:

Ambition – do you have more ambition that most?

Beauty – are you more beautiful now than ever before?

Style – has having more style enhanced your life?

Passion – do you brim with more passion?

Do you (or someone you know) embody MORE of any of these? Visit Women with MORE Essay Contest, select a category, upload your photo, submit your essay with a $25 entry fee and complete your registration. One winner will be chosen in each category, selected by a panel of MORE editors. The four finalists have an opportunity to win a trip to New York City to participate in an editorial photo shoot, a chance to appear in an upcoming issue of MORE, and receive an exclusive beauty package from program sponsor RoC® Skincare.  In addition, the first 300 entrants receive a full size RoC® RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Serum. What are you waiting for?

If my mother was still alive I would definitely nominate her for the Style award. She was a very classy lady: sophisticated, stylish, chic. Her taste was impeccable and she never met a shoe she didn’t like. She even wore gloves and hats. I used to love playing with her hats stored in their pretty hat boxes. I think my mom looks very Jackie Kennedy-ish in this picture. I don’t remember the outfit, but I sure remember the hat!

Hats!

Hats!

Her style extended to our home too. My mother was waaay ahead of her time. In the 1960’s I had what would now be called a shabby chic bedroom. I had white wicker furniture, lilac walls and a bedspread with white and lilac flowers. My sister and I had brass beds and handmade quilts before that was ever a “thing.”

Mom and my Aunt (her sister) loved antiques and they often went antique “hunting.” She really had an eye for how to combine her precious antique finds with modern day living. My sister and I still have some of her pieces in our homes.

My mother’s style also included a good skincare regimen. She had all sort of bottles and jars of night cream on her vanity and used them liberally and diligently. I distinctly remember making fun of her milky white face and her hair in curlers. Even when she passed at 89, she had very few wrinkles and that taught me an important lesson in skincare: ALWAYS wear night cream.

My night cream of choice is RoC® RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Serum. It absorbs quickly so I don’t get that greasy feeling I remember from my mom’s creams. The anti-aging formula is clinically proven to help visibly reduce lines and deep wrinkles. I love how smooth it feels making it great for use under makeup during the day too.

Who is your nominee for the Women with MORE Essay Contest? Your mom? Sister? Friend? Co-worker? How about you? The contest is open through 6/16/15.

Stay tuned for new launches from RoC®  and be sure to check out the RoC website and Facebook.
