I love me some multi-tasking products and the new Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield ($65) is a multi-tasking powerhouse! It’s is a triple threat offering an anti-aging treatment, a primer and SPF protection all in one space age looking bottle! But wait….there’s more….it’s chock full of antioxidants and good-for-your-skin ingredients! Why, oh why didn’t someone think of this before? Oh well, I’m just glad it’s available now.

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield is built with a carefully crafted recipe composed of antioxidants, hydrators and anti-inflammatories. This is a recipe Dr. Murad has perfected over four decades of helping people enjoy healthier, more beautiful skin.

  • Mushroom peptides to fight against visible signs of aging and to help restore firmness, elasticity and skin resilience.
  • Soft-focus complex smooths skin and blurs imperfections for improved tone and texture to create an ideal canvas for makeup application.
  • Barley, sunflower and Cucumber extracts enhance skin’s ability to retain moisture.

The formula is velvety smooth and surprisingly lightweight for a primer and sunscreen in one. The reason it’s spreads so beautifully and feels so luxurious is because it has silicones in it. If you are allergic to silicones or just prefer not to use them, walk on by. I, for one, am loving the  “Photoshop” effect that makes wrinkles, lines and imperfections virtually disappear—or least soften. It works well under foundation without being greasy and helps my foundation last all day….like an 8 hour day. After applying, I notice the texture of my skin appears smoother and my pores are less noticeable too. If you don’t wear makeup (I’m jealous) you’ll still get the effect AND have your SPF too.

Speaking of SPF, I love that I don’t have to apply sunscreen separately and that Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield is CLEAR! No whiteish cast or heavy, greasy feeling—yipee! I never wear less than a 30 SPF so this suits me nicely and I can skip one step of my skincare routine! Anything that saves me a little time is a win for me.

As far as a moisturizer, this is all I need, but then I have combination skin, especially in the warmer months. If you are really dry, you may want to use an additional moisturizer.

Back to that space age looking bottle. Doesn’t this bottle cap look a little like the old spaceship rendering from the 60’s? Or maybe Tomorrow Land at Disneyland in the 60’s. No? Okay, that’s just me. Well, I had a hard time figuring out where the serum was coming from: it’s a teeny tiny little hole in the side of the flat disc. You need only the smallest amount of product to do your whole face—a full pump is probably too much, but I like to use it on my chest and the back of my hands too.

Bottom Line: Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield is a multi-tasking product I think most over 40 women will love. It does triple duty by softening lines, wrinkles and pores, providing SPF protection and moisturizes!  Recommended!

  3. I’m very curious about this especially because of the SPF. I have tried both L’Oreal Miracle Blur and Lancome Visionnaire Blur and both have been a failure for me. But maybe the consistency is different for this one. I’m going to ask for a sample at Sephora next visit.
