My Nordstrom Fresh Faces Pop-in Experience

Nordstrom Fresh Faces_The Followup
Purchased by me

About a month ago I shared a post about the Nordstrom Fresh Faces Pop-in, This amazing online and in-store pop-in gave beauty enthusiasts a chance to try out new products from indie beauty cult favorites and need-to-know newbies. Today, I’m back to share my thoughts on the products I picked up during the pop-in.

My Fresh Faces Picks

As I mentioned in my March post, after much consideration, I narrowed my picks down to six, cruelty-free products. I choose a couple for each category. Later, after discovering I had a Nordstrom gift card, I made one more purchase.

Makeup
Nordstrom Fresh Faces_Cupid & Psyche and W3LL People

In the makeup category, I choose the W3LL People Bio Tint Multi-Action Face Moisturizer in Fair and the Cupid & Psyche Beauty Crème Lip Color in Artemis. While I was familiar with W3LL People, I had yet to try one of their products. As for Cupid & Psyche, the brand was completely new to me. And let’s face it, I can’t resist testing out a new lipstick.

I’m so happy with both my picks. The W3LL People Bio Tint is the perfect tinted moisturizer for spring and summer. I wore it every day during my recent Disney trip. Not only did this plant-based tint protect my skin from the sun, but it also kept my skin looking refreshed and feeling hydrated. I like that it provides just enough coverage to hide my imperfections while still letting my skin look like skin.

I’m so glad I finally gave W3LL People a try. All of their products are cruelty-free and don’t contain toxins, allergens, and other not so good for you ingredients.

Next up is Cupid & Psyche Crème LipColor in Artemis. Inspired by the legend of Cupid & Psyche, the brand is all about promoting beauty that goes beyond what you see on the surface. Their lipsticks are vegan, cruelty-free, bee-friendly, and hand poured. Additionally, they are formulated with Japanese Honeysuckle, Vitamin E + Grapeseed. Not only is each lipstick rich in pigment, but they also contain soothing and hydrating ingredients.

As a lipstick fiend, I wanted the entire collection but was especially drawn to Artemis. This “semi-sheer blend of copper and plum, with a hint of golden metallic shimmer” is gorgeous. I don’t have anything like it in my collection. It’s a great everyday color and extremely comfortable to wear. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Cupid & Psyche. The brand is both ecoconscious and inspired.

Skincare
Nordstrom Fresh Faces_Truly Organic Mist & Nuria Serum

When it comes to skincare, I’m always on the lookout for new brands and products to try. The Fresh Faces event gave me so many options, I had a hard time narrowing it down. I initially choose the Truly Organic Volcanic Rosewater All-Over Hydrating Mist and Nuria Defend Skin Restoring Serum.  Later, I used my gift card to pick up Nécessaire The Body Lotion.

Up first is the Truly Organic Volcanic Rosewater All-Over Hydrating Mist. In the spring and summer, I like to use hydrating mists or body sprays to keep my skin feeling and smelling fresh. I was drawn to the Volcanic Rosewater Mist for many reasons. It’s cruelty-free, vegan, organic, and made with fair trade ingredients. I also knew the rosehip, aloe, rosewater, and vitamin c would be beneficial for my skin. The combination is hydrating, soothing, nourishing, calming, and gives my skin a healthy glow.

I took this mist with me on my Disney trip and used it whenever I felt overheated. It did a great job providing the relief I needed, without interfering with my sunscreen. Even my niece and nephew liked it. I know the Truly Organic mist will get a lot of use this spring and summer.

Nordstrom Fresh Faces_Necessaire Body Lotion

Next, we have the Nécessaire Body Lotion. This brand is definitely starting to generate some buzz, which is why I had to try it out. What I appreciate most about this lotion is that it’s packed full of vitamins and peptides. In addition, to moisturizing my skin, it also tones and strengthens it. I also like that it’s fragrance-free and fast-absorbing.

Like other brands in the Fresh Faces pop-in, Nécessaire is a cruelty-free, clean beauty brand. Their focus on inclusivity and sustainability is also impressive. I really admire Nécessaire for creating well-made products designed to be good for humans and the planet.

Finally, we have the Nuria Defend Skin Restoring Serum. In the past few years, serums have become a vital part of my skincare routine. After hearing good things about Nuria, I knew their serum had to be one of my picks. It’s cruelty-free, vegan, clean and dermatologist tested. I also like that a portion of Nuria sales go towards supporting girls’ education.

Formulated with Carrot Seed Oil, Rooibos Red Tea, and Sodium Hyaluronate, this serum was made for me. It helps protect my skin against the elements while also restoring its natural balance and nutrients. I love the lightweight formula. My skin drinks it in and looks fabulous each time I use it.

Tools and Supplements
Nordstrom Fresh Faces_CAP Beuaty Superior Shuteye & Sdara Microneedler

Last but certainly not least, is the Sdara Microneedle Derma Roller and The Cap Beauty 10pm Superior Shuteye. I choose these two products for different reasons. I couldn’t resist giving the derma roller a try. I wanted to know if it lived up to the skin improvement hype.

The CAP Beauty supplement appealed to me because I’m a horrible sleeper. I have trouble falling and staying asleep and prefer to use more natural products to aid in my sleep. The powder supplement is made from an adaptogenic blend of ingredients such as Spirit Poria, Jujube, Albizzia Flower, and Luo Han Guo. It is designed to help calm the mind, relieve insomnia, reduce anxiety, support the immune system for a more restful sleep.

I’m still on the fence about the effectiveness of this product. I know adaptogens are the hot ingredient these days, as they are supposed to provide many benefits. The supplement does make my sleep seem more restful, although I still struggle to fall asleep. I think the CAP Beauty 10pm might be one of those supplement you need to use over a longer amount of time to receive the full benefits. My plan is to keep incorporating it into my routine for the next few months to see if my sleep changes.

Nordstrom Fresh Faces_Microneedler and 10pm Sleep Powder

Finally, we have the Sdara Skincare Microneedle Derma Roller. The roller contains 540 titanium micro needles at 0.25mm. If you’re thinking, “ouch”, you are right. It does sting a bit, especially in sensitive parts of my face. Regardless, I like the sting or pinch. It tells me the roller is working.

The Sdara Microneedler helps exfoliate dead skin cells, improve the appearance of scarring and hyperpigmentation, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps your skincare absorb better. After using the roller once a week, as recommended, for the past few weeks, I’ve bought into the hype. And, so has my skin. I can see the difference in my skin. My serums and skincare absorb better, which means I’m getting more out of my routine. I’m curious to see the difference it will make after longer term use.

Additional Fresh Faces Products

In my previous Nordstrom Fresh Faces March post, I mentioned a few brands from the event I was already using. These included Vital Proteins and Megababe, both of which I would recommend. The Vital Proteins Collagen Powder is highly effective and works well in smoothies or water. I definitely notice an improvement to my hair, nails, and skin when I use it. I also love that it has no funky after taste and blends into liquids easily.

The Megababe Thigh Rescue and Megafresh wipes have become staples in my spring and summer routine. Thigh Rescue is the perfect anti-chafe stick. It’s effective, non-irritating, and very soothing. The Megafresh Wipes keep me feeling clean and hydrated, without throwing off my pH or causing irritation. I like to keep some in my bag for on-the-go use all year round.

Nordstrom Fresh Faces Look

Overall: Although the Nordstrom Fresh Faces pop-in has ended, all of the products and brands I mentioned are available online and in-stores. I highly recommend supporting these amazing indie brands. They are creating well-made, thoughtful products that are good for the mind, body, soul, and planet.
