Osmosis Pur Skincare is a favorite at Prime Beauty Headquarters.  They strive to create permanent change with a holistic noninflammatory approach and solutions targeting the source of aging and skin conditions. Their products are free of toxic chemicals, SLS, phthalates, parabens, gluten, artificial colors and fragrances, something I look for in a skincare brand.

The brand launched a new 4 piece Moisturizing Collection skincare line in March and I’ve been using it for about six or seven weeks now. I’m excited with the results and even more excited to tell you about it! My skin was dry and dehydrated when I started these new products, but that has all turned around now.  First a little background about the new line.

The 4-piece line is rich in essential fatty acids, flavonoids, phytosterols, vitamins and minerals that feed the skin. Each Oncology Friendly product is designed to improve skin barrier health, function, and integrity to combat a nutrient-starved complexion. Loading the skin with anti-inflammatory ingredients, this will aid in healing and softening, while improving texture.

While formulating the collection, Osmosis found four leading causes of dry skin:

Diets high in caffeine, sugar, or alcohol while often also poor in good fats can cause skin vasoconstriction, dehydration, and reduced nutrient delivery. This prevents the epidermis from properly maintaining optimal health. This is totally ME!

Skin conditions, primarily rosacea, utilize more nutrients in order to calm inflammation, which leads to difficulty producing a complete barrier. When the barrier is not intact water loss occurs, dehydrating the skin.

When exfoliants or chemicals like Alpha Hydroxy Acids are overused they may strip the protective lipid barrier causing moisture loss.

Wind, humidity, and temperature will all have an effect on the skin. When the moisture content in the air drops, it will also drop in skin. Wind wicks away moisture and cold air reduces blood flow to skin due to heat regulation. All of these cold weather-related factors cause a loss of lipids due to nutrient depletion. We had a very cold winter in the PNW this year and my skin suffered as a result.

To target the above sources, the Moisturizing Collection includes: Lift Away Cleansing Balm, Nourish Organic Facial Oil, Enrich Restorative Night Crème, and Remedy Healing Balm. Products can be purchased separately, I have three of the four pieces to show you today.

Lift Away Cleansing Balm $44. With ingredients like mangosteen, elderberry fruit juices, and avocado oil this soothing, fluffy balm dissolves makeup, dirt and oil then rinses clean leaving no greasy residue. I love the light, whipped texture versus the heavy greasy, oily balms I’ve used in the past. I like this much, I look forward to taking off my makeup at night, is that weird? It’s suitable for all skin types and is gentle enough for everyday use.

Enrich Restorative Night Cream $65. This rich, super-charged treatment cream is perfect for bedtime to revitalize and revive while you get your beauty sleep. It hydrates beautifully and leaves your skin feeling nourished. Key ingredients like Raspberry Seed Oil, Swertia Chirata Leaf Extract, Blueberry Fruit Extract deliver moisture deep into the skin, restoring the lipid barrier for an effortlessly luminous and supple complexion. My skin feels smooth and moisturized in the morning. You can see from the pic how much I’ve used!

Remedy Healing Balm $55. This is thick and highly emollient. Formulated with rich anti-inflammatories and healing agents, it encourages and supports the skin’s innate recovery function to alleviate redness and reduce signs of distress and further damage making it ideal for irritated, reactive, and post-procedure skin. I’ve been using it after face peels to rehydrate, calm and soothe my skin. If you have extremely dry or chapped skin, it works wonders as a sleeping mask too. I also use it on my elbows, knees and feet. Key ingredients include: Shea Butter, Licorice Root Extract, Wild Cherry Bark Extract, Gotu Kola Leaf Extract.

Using these three Osmosis Skincare products has really changed my skin for the better! For the first time ever, my esthetician DIDN’T tell me my skin was dehydrated! My dry skin drinks up this routine! If you had to choose just one product, I would recommend the Enrich Restorative Night Cream.

  1. I have combination skin and I find that the cleanser I used for years (especially during high school…don’t judge me) don’t work for me now. So I’ve been trying to rediscover a regimen. The cleansing balm sounds like it would be perfect for me.
