New Beauty at Target and Walgreens!

Target is my first choice for Mass Market stores and in the past few years, they have become more and more upscale with their collaborations in fashion– hello Victoria Beckham and home goods. They have also reworked their beauty department and added several new lines. Walgreens is expanding their beauty department as well and I have the low down on some of the new brands debuting at your local drugstore.

Kristin Ess Haircare

Kristin Ess is a celebrity hairstylist, colorist, social influencer and co-founder of thebeautydepartment.com. Target is now carrying her line of hair care. Kristin developed a range of cleansers, conditioners, dry and wet stylers that we’ve all been waiting for to create “perfectly imperfect” hair. Each affordable product in the Kristin Ess Hair collection has been designed to either be used alone and integrated into your current haircare routine, or can be paired with other products in the line. I’m really curious about the Sea Salt Air Dry Spray ($10).

From the website: Where do I even start with this one? This is a brand new kind of sea salt spray. First of all, can we talk about the spray? SO OBSESSED! It has a super-fine, constant mist which ensures a more even application than your average pump applicator. Second, the feeling! No salty, crunchy, chalky texture, just satin-grit that stays touchable and soft. Btw, the difference between this one and my Soft Shine Beach Wave Spray is this one goes on wet/damp hair and the other one is for finishing so it goes on dry hair.

Whamisa by Glow Recipe

Whamisa by Glow is a woman-owned K-beauty brand. You may remember owners Sarah and Christine on Season 7 of Shark Tank! The Green Tea Serum Toner ($21.99) has me curious.

From the website: a skin–soothing lightweight toner and serum in one that instantly preps the skin for skincare while flooding it with lasting moisture. It refines and intensively hydrates, leaving the skin plump and glowy. Formulated with antioxidant-rich Green Tea, a natural anti-inflammatory; hydrating Hyaluronic Acid; and Kale and Broccoli to brighten and refine troubled skin with high concentrations of vitamins A and C.

Good Chemistry Fragrance

Good Chemistry is know-how meets nature; a just-right composition of instinct and identity that designs a life that pops with personality. I love the sound of Wild Child, a mix of bergamot, coconut and bamboo make Wild Child perfume mischievous + bright with looks to match. Good Chemistry fragrances are paraben-free and vegan. There are 16 scents available in 1.7 fl oz ($24.99) as well as rollerballs ($12.99). Some scents are unisex. There are so many scents I want to try, I can’t wait until my next Target run!

Meow Meow Tweet
Meow Meow Tweet is a small-batch skin care company that creates vegan products with pure, all natural and organic ingredients. They develop all of their goods as if they were modern culinary dishes, from the sourcing of ingredients to the beautifully scented, healthful and efficacious final products.

Lather your way to a rosy disposition! Our Pink Rose Clay bar is a gentle and moisturizing facial soap for all skin types, with a calming floral scent. French pink clay and crushed rose petals cleanse and detoxify skin with the lightest exfoliation. Delicately scented geranium, palmarosa and lavender essential oils calm and heal skin while toning and clearing the complexion.

The packaging alone makes me want this beautiful sounding soap!

Love, Beauty and Planet

One of my goals in 2017 that I have carried over into 2018 is to go green with my beauty products if possible at Walgreen’s and if I didn’t have no less than 5 shampoos and conditioners open right now. I would have picked up the yummy sounding Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower. It’s a new haircare and body care line that’s focused on sustainability and being kind to the earth, while still catering to all your beauty needs. Some of their advancements include 100 percent recycled bottles.  The brightly colored, printed labels have a special adhesive that ensures they can be removed in the recycling process so the bottle definitely gets reused. On top of all that, the scents are composed of naturally and ethically-sourced oils or extracts, and the brand is entirely vegan and free of silicones and parabens. The line includes body wash, scrubs, shampoos, conditioners and dry shampoos.

Have you tried any of these new brands? Please share!

I’ll be looking for Good Chemistry Fragrance to see if they have an oriental, spicy scent for me! I wish that Jeff’s older daughter wore fragrances because he calls her The Wild Child! Meow Meow Skincare also sounds adorable, so I’ll check that out too. Unfortunately, the Walgreens closest to me has a tiny beauty department. I actually went there yesterday specifically looking for a Jordana Twist & Shout Moisturizing Balm Stain to replace one that I just finished, but they don’t carry the brand at that store. The next nearest one that might have it is about 15 miles a way, not far but more of a drive.
