It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks, they just aren’t flattering on my older lips so I”m delighted that glosses are having a comeback. And I’m extra delighted that Burt’s Bees has added liquid lipsticks $10 to their line! Made with 100% natural ingredients, Burt’s Bees liquid lipsticks contain conditioning Apricot and Babassu Oil, Shea Butter and essential fatty acids to keep your lips looking healthy and hydrated. There are 12 gorgeous shades with a glossy finish.
Burt’s Bees promises a long-wearing moisturizing formula. I agree that they are moisturizing, they are also extremely lightweight and comfortable wear. There have excellent color payoff but are sadly lacking in fulfilling the long-wearing claim. I need to reapply after about 2 hours but let’s face it, no gloss is as long-wearing as a lipstick. That doesn’t bother me too much because these are not sticky and are so hydrating and easy to wear. They glide on lips with a slanted pointed doe foot for precise application. What I’m most impressed with is that there is NO thick sticky or drying feel of a typical liquid lipstick. I absolutely love the creamy, moisturizing feel and that unlike most liquid lipsticks, Burt’s Bees don’t dry out my lips!
I have four shades to show you today, each more lovely than the next! Let’s start:
- Tidal Taupe – an opaque dark nude shade with a soft brown hue
- Rushing Rose – deep magenta pink
- Blush Brook – dusty pink rose
- Sunrise Cruise– peach with subtle gold sparkle
These are all beautiful, wearable shades that are super pigmented! In fact, the entire selection is stunning–you might have a hard time choosing, but don’t worry, you’ll be happy with all the shades. The four I chose are especially perfect for fall: my favorite being Sunrise Cruise because of the gold sparkles and Blush Brook because I love rose shades on my skin tone. I’d also like to get my mitts on Flushed Petal, Garnet Glacier and Coral Cove.
Burt’s Bees liquid lipsticks are formulated without parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, silicones, synthetic fragrances and dyes. Available at burtsbees.com and drugstores nationwide for $10 each.
Burt’s Bees Liquid Lipstick made it’s first debut at the Met Gala this May before hitting stores and I thought you might be interested in seeing a few shades on your favorite over 40 actresses.
Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a pigment-packed, glossy liquid lipstick that is moisturizing with flattering shades, definitely give Burt’s Bees Liquid Lipstick a try!
