Maybelline has a few new products that are getting rave reviews so I thought I’d try a few.

The product getting the most buzz is the new Maybelline Dream Urban Foundation $10. This full-coverage lightweight foundation has an SPF of 50 and is enriched with antioxidants. I really wanted to try it because so many YouTubers have said it’s a dupe for the popular and more expensive, ($39) IT Cosmetics CC Cream SPF 50 which I love.

Similarities: both products contain SPF 50 and antioxidants. You will get more skin benefits with the IT CC Cream.

Differences: IT Cosmetics CC Cream is available in 12 shades and Maybelline Dream Urban has 16 shades. The IT CC cream is much thicker than the Maybelline Dream Urban which is fairly runny. I don’t find Dream Urban to be full coverage at all. I’ve tried using several different primers under it and I still can’t get full coverage, it’s medium at best. IT has much better coverage and also I got less settling into lines. Dream Urban settled into the lines around my mouth and nose immediately even with a primer. The IT CC Cream is dewier than the Maybelline though IT does have a matte version available.

I’m not impressed with Maybelline Dream Urban Foundation, it didn’t work with my mature skin. I think someone younger or with combo or oily skin would fare better. As far as a comparison between the IT CC Cream and Maybelline Dream Urban foundations, personally I don’t see many similarities.

The Maybelline Color Tatoo Cream Eyeshadows $8 have a new look. They are packaged in a jar within a cardboard box. They still claim to be creaseless, not fade and have waterproof wear. All of which are true!

There are 10 shades available in matte and shimmer. I picked up Socialite, a pretty rose gold and High Roller, a brown taupe. These cream shadows have a beautiful texture and the shimmers have just the right amount of sparkle. They will NOT budge until you take them off. There are also metal gel and leather cream shadows available.

Maybelline Lip Studio Plumper Please! $10 is a lip plumper that helps amplify and contour your lips. This 2-in-1 lipstick/gloss features stimulating plumping technology, a nourishing glossy formula, and a doe foot applicator. Line and fill in your lips with the plumping lipstick–it has a slight tingle, then top off with the gloss.

There are 10 shades available, I chose Bragging Rights, a bright coral red. I prefer to wear the lipstick alone because adding the gloss is way too bright for my pale skin tone. Some of the pink shades look nice, but truly I’m not that impressed. In my opinion, Maybelline Plumper Please is just meh, nothing special. I’ve tried other plumpers that are better, bareMinerals immediately comes to mind.

Bottom Line: Out of the 3 new offerings I tried from Maybelline, the new Color Tattoo Longwear Cream Eyeshadows were the only things that impressed me. The Dream Urban Cover was a big disappointment and the Plumper Please lipstick/gloss is nothing special.
