New! Make Up For Ever Natural Artist Lipstick – Sheer Shiny Goodness!

When Make Up for Ever launches a new product, I take notice. They don’t dilly-dally around with 5 or 6 shades, they go big or go home and they always go BIG! That’s one reason I love the brand so much, they’re not afraid to commit.

I’m nearly giddy with excitement for this new launch, the Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick Collection ($19). If you purchased the lipstick Folk, from the MUFE La Bohéme collection, as I did you got a taste of the new Rouge Artist Natural formula. I love it!  It’s super lightweight, ultra creamy and color rich! These moisturizing lipsticks provide light coverage with a soft shiny finish. Bright lips are in this spring and these lipsticks are perfect for a sheer glossy pop of color.

Like I said, Make Up For Ever always goes big and the new Rouge Artist Natural Lipsticks will be available in 50 shades and three finishes: satin, iridescent and diamond. The vast range covers pinks, reds, nudes, orange, all the way to aubergine. Your local Sephora will carry 18 select shades and Make Up For Ever boutiques will carry the full line of 50 shades.

The lipsticks are packed with cuapacu butter, rich is essential fatty acids, candelilla and beeswax to keep lips soft and moist. The texture is balm-like, it glides on and is comfortable to wear, wear-time is a little better than a gloss or balm. What makes these lipsticks special are the shades.

MUFE Folk Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick

Folk is a limited edition lipstick from this Spring’s La Bohéme Collection. It was the first release of the new Natural Artist Lipstick formula. Folk is a bright (but not too bright) orange/coral that livens up your complexion. It is semi-opaque with the sheer glossy finish that differentiates this formula from the MUFE’s Artist Intense, which has a creamy more matte finish. It does lean on the warm side, but I think cooler toned girls could rock it just as well. There is a very subtle iridescence that gives the lips dimension.

Folk is actually fairly versatile, it can be applied lightly for a sheer fresh look or heavily for a more sophisticated or statement look.  If you like corals, grab it, it’s still on the Sephora website!  It’s already one of my favorite lipsticks for spring and I know I will wear in into the summer.

The other shade I was sent to try from the new Rouge Artist Natural Collection was #N35, Iridescent Orange Pink. It doesn’t pack as much punch as Folk, but provides more of a fresh glossy color perfect for an easy breezy summer look.

MUFE #N35, Iridescent Orange Pink

Overall Thoughts: This new lipstick formula is a winner! For those of you that don’t like thick dark lipsticks that you have to prep your lips for or try to keep from feathering, will enjoy Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural. These are a good alternative to the more costly Chanel Rouge Coco Shine or Dior Ultra Addict lipsticks though not as long lasting. I think the sheerness, shine and breadth of shades are perfect for spring and summer!

  1. I love these lipsticks. What’s so exciting is that these are the first MUFE lipsticks that I don’t mind the scent of. I have 3 in pink (one in each formula) and they are fabulous!!

  2. These are so beautiful! I’m going to have to pick up a few of them!
