Sinful Colors Sinfulshine Gel Tech Collection

When we were packing up my parent’s house and moving my dad, I knew my nails were going to take a hit. I thought the best way to protect them was by getting gel manicures. While my nails and polish held up, it was costly and time-consuming. I knew there had to be a better way to achieve the same look. Enter the SinfulShine Gel Tech from Sinful Colors.

2-Steps to a Gel Manicure

If you’ve gotten a gel manicure at a salon you know it’s not a quick process. It takes time to achieve that high gloss, long-lasting shine. It can also be a little painful. The few times I’ve done it, I felt a burning sensation on my nails while they were under the light.  And don’t get me started on the removal process, cost, or the damage done to your natural nails.

With the Sinful Colors SinfulShine Gel Tech system, you can achieve a gel-like manicure in 2-steps. Not only is the process quicker, it’s also more affordable. Both the polishes and top coat retail for only $2.99 each.

Sinful Colors SinfulShine Gel Tech Polish

Currently, there are 17 polishes in the SinfulShine Gel Tech collection, both in cream and metallic finishes. The brand was kind enough to send me eight polishes to try out. I did purchase the top coat myself to ensure a thorough review. I also wanted to compare it against the other gel top coats I have in my collection.

SinfulShine Gel Tech Wear Test

For my first wear test, I paired Alfresco, a beautiful sky blue, with my Seche Vie Gel Top Coat. Although the SinfulShine Gel Tech only requires the use of the polish and top coat, I did use a base coat. I always wear a base coat with any polish I wear to protect my nails and increase wear time.

Sinful Colors SinfulShine Wear Test

I found Alfresco very easy to apply. It didn’t streak or go on clumpy, which sometimes happens with more pastel colors. I was able to achieve a nice opaque look in two coats. To complete the look, I applied a gel top coat. After 7 days of wear, my nails showed minimal wear and chipping.

On my second wear test, I chose to pair Plumberry and Spice with the SinfulShine Gel Tech top coat. I did use a base coat on this application as well. Again, both polishes were easy to apply. They didn’t streak or clump. After two coats, they were both very opaque. I feel like my nail polish held up even better with the use of the Gel Tech top coat. It makes sense since it’s made for the collection.

Additionally, I didn’t have any issue with my nails breaking or chipping off. My nails are usually stronger when I wear polish, but they can still occasionally break. I was so impressed, especially since I was traveling during the second week. My polish and nails tend to take more of beating with travel.

Sinful Color SinfulShine Polish Remover

One thing that did bother me was how my nails looked after removing Plumberry and Spice. As you can see, they look a little strange and weak.  I don’t think this was a result of the polish, but from using the top coat.

I also have this same issue with salon gel manicures. Perhaps, there is a similar ingredient in the polishes or top coats. However, my nails aren’t breaking and don’t feel weak like they do with a salon gel manicure. This could change will longer term wear, but only time will tell.

Regardless, I would recommend the Sinful Colors SinfulShine Gel Tech 2-step manicure systems. It gives you the same high-shine, long lasting results of a salon gel manicure without the cost or time requirements.

Thanks for including the removal photos! It’s always my biggest ? When deciding on new nail products!

  6. I can’t believe those are only $2.99! I’ve been looking for some new nail polish. Thanks for the review. Gotta get my hands on one (or 3!) of these.

  7. It’s hard for me to get away from a base coat too. I like Galaxy and Poison Apple and at that price it wouldn’t even be breaking my no-buy for polish. (I do stretch promises at times)

  8. I love Sinful Colors. They are a great deal and the polish lasts a lot longer than other brands! I love love love Poison Apple and Alfresco!

  9. The shads look so pretty! I will definitely let my wife know about it, thanks a lot.

  10. Those really are some sinful colors. Spice is my favorite 🙂

  11. The colors look really beautiful and the duration is good. Of course I often think it is also due a lot from what we do with our hands, a person who does not use them almost at all, for cooking or home jobs, surely it splintered less!

I had never heard of this brand but I absolutely love the colors! I used to go to a salon for gel nails and eventually gave it up because I hated going through the removal process. What a great option!

  16. I love the different shades! I’ve never thought of a gel manicure at home. It seems a nice product to try.

  17. Brittany Bertolozzi-Vantrease says

I love the plum berry and spice manicure. It’s very pretty. One of the reasons why I sopped doing my nails is because they always chipped as soon as they dried.

  18. Bismah Bonnie says

Those are a great selection of nail colors! I have never had gel nails done however seeing all these beautiful shades is very tempting.
