Pop-in@Nordstrom Fresh Faces Event

It’s an exciting time in the beauty world. Never before have there been so many new and emerging indie brands to explore. In addition to their innovative formulas, these purpose-driven brands feature founders from a diverse range of backgrounds. To bring more attention to these indie brands, Nordstrom is hosting a Pop-in@Nordstrom Fresh Faces.

This in-store and online pop-in is taking place from now until April 14th. It features cult favorites from brands like May Lindstrom and Alima Pure, as well as need-to-know products from Shiva Rose and Necessaire.

You can find something to love in a variety of beauty categories. All of the products are free of sulfates, parabens, silicones, and more. They’re also cruelty-free and made with innovative, clean ingredients.

Meet the Brand Founders
Pop-in@Nordstrom Fresh Faces Founders

One of the really cool features of the Pop-in@Nordstrom Fresh Faces page is the “Meet the Founder’s” section. It’s a great way to learn more about what inspires these founders, as well as what products they can’t live without.

For instance, Andrew Glass of Non Gender Specific is all about creating 100% vegan and cruelty-free products for everyone. His all-inclusive brand also serves to reduce waste through products that are multi-functional.

Audrey Siu of Veque is all about creating the perfect nude nail polish for every skin tone. She’s also a huge fan of fellow Fresh Faces brand Vintner’s Daughter.

Speaking of Vintner’s Daughter, founder April Gargiulo drew inspiration for her serum from her family’s history of making fine wines. She saw the difference world-class ingredients made in both wine and skincare.

Then we have duo Randi Christiansen and Nick Axelrod, also known as the founders of Necessaire. Their sustainably sourced products are quickly becoming cult favorites of both men and women. When they aren’t creating new products, they are trying out goodies from CAP Beauty.

My Pop-in@Nordstrom Picks
Pop-in@Nordstrom Fresh Faces Product Choices

After reading about these amazing founders, I decided to pick up a few products from the pop-in. I must admit it was hard to narrow down my choices, but I finally came up with six, including:

  • Nuria Defend Skin Restoring Serum – an antioxidant-rich serum designed to nourish, balance and brighten skin, as well as fight damage caused by stressors
  • CAP Beauty’s The O’Clocks: The 10PM Herbal Supplement – an adaptogenic tonic blended with botanical ingredients designed to help improve sleep
  • W3LL People Bio Tint Multi Action Moisturizer – a tinted moisturizer formulated with phytonutrients and zinc (broad spectrum 30 SPF) to protect, brighten, hydrate and diminish imperfections
  • Sdara Microneedle Skin Roller – a non-invasive skin roller that helps exfoliate dead cells and aid in application of serums
  • Truly Organic Volcanic Rosewater All Over Hydrating Mist – a vitamin rich, refreshing body mist designed to maintain pH levels, relieve inflammation, and neutralize free radicals
  • Cupid and Psyche Buildable Crème Lip in Artemis – a decadent, buildable small batch crème lipstick loaded with plant-based ingredients and pure mineral pigments

In addition to my picks, I also created a list of other products/brands I want to try. I also noticed there were items featured in the pop-in I had already used or am currently using, such as Vital Proteins, MegaBabe, and Grown Alchemist. I will be sharing my thoughts on those, as well as on my six picks, in a future post.
