I’ve been a fan of Mally Beauty products from the first time I tried their High Shine Liquid Lipstick Pens. I loved the formulation and the color payoff. Ever since then, I’ve been wanting to try more from the brand. Luckily, I was asked to review their Face Defender BB Cream Foundation, $45, Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner, $18, Evercolor Shadow Stick, $25, and Brow Beauty Brow Fix, $35 for duo.

If you’re not familiar with Mally Beauty, the company was started by makeup artist Mally Roncal out of her desire to provide products that help every woman look as “gorgois” on the outside as she feels on the inside. Roncal’s collection first debuted on QVC in 2005, and sold out in under an hour. Earlier this summer, the company did file for bankruptcy, and was subsequently bought by Beauty Visions. I’m not sure what this will mean for the future of Mally Roncal and her beauty company. As of now, you can still find Mally Beauty at Ulta, QVC, and on Mallybeauty.com.

Mally Face Defender BB Cream Foundation in Fair, 1.8 fl oz, $45

Mally Face Defender BB Cream   Mally Face Defender BB Swatch

Available in eight shades, ranging from fair to deep, the Face Defender BB Cream Foundation is formulated to give you a radiant, healthy looking complexion with its long lasting coverage. That is a lot to live up to for a BB cream, and having not had the best experience with BB creams I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I applied my color of choice, Fair, with the included brush, a feature I really like. Not many brands include a full size brush with their products. The soft, yet dense bristles aid in application, and make blending out the BB cream a breeze. Immediately, I noticed a brightening and radiance to my skin, along with a reduction in the appearance of my pores.

Face Defender Brush Closeup

I recently changed up my skincare routine a bit, and my skin hasn’t quite adjusted to it yet, so I have several dry patches that makeup likes to cling to. This happened with the Face Defender, but I found this dissipated when I used a primer, or hydrating face mist. I would consider the dry skin issue a problem with my skin, and not the product, as I’ve had this has happen to me many times over the years. Otherwise, the Face Defender BB Cream Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 15, lived up to its promises of radiant skin with long-lasting coverage. It stayed on all day, and kept my skin feeling hydrated and healthy looking.

Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Lucky Penny, $18

 Mally Starlight Liner Copper Penny

Available in 25 shades, the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner is one of Mally’s best sellers, and I can definitely see why. It glides on extremely smoothly, and delivers amazing color payoff. I was lucky enough to try Lucky Penny, which looks exactly how the name indicates it should; a beautiful shimmering copper. I recently watched a tutorial about how to show off blue eyes using coppery colors, and I’m excited to recreate the look using Lucky Penny,

Another great feature of the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliners, besides being waterproof, is they can also be worn smudged. Because they are waterproof, you do have to work quickly to create the smudged effect, but the results are both very pretty and long-lasting.

Evercolor Shadow Stick in Deep Plum, $25

Mally Deep Plum Evercolor Shadow Stick

Available in 24 shades, the Evercolor Shadow Stick is another Mally Best Seller. And just like the eyeliner, the shadow stick glides on smoothly, has great color payoff, and long-lasting power. I love a good purple eyeshadow. Not only does it look amazing on every skintone and eye color, but it’s also a versatile color. I found this to be true of Deep Plum. I could blend it out for a subtler look, or build it up to create something more intense.

Because the Evercolor Shadow Stick is very creamy, and easy to work with, I could also use it as an eyeliner. Who doesn’t like a multi-use product? I know I’m a huge fan, especially when I’m feeling a little lazy, and would rather not spend forever applying eye makeup. As I mentioned above, The Evercolor Shadow Stick has long-lasting power. It even proved to be a bit of a challenge for my micellar water.

Brow Beauty Brow Fix in Taupe, $35 for duo (price not available for a single).

 Mally Brow Fix Taupe

The Mally Brow Fix is no longer sold as a single stick, instead it now comes as a duo. I’m not sure if the duo is also in Taupe, but it seems like this brow stick is intended for universal use. I do like when brands create universal brow products. It makes finding your perfect shade a no brainer. The taupe color worked great on my brows. It allowed me to go natural or intensify the appearance of my brows.  I’m always amazed at what a difference adding color to my brows makes. It really helps to open up my eyes, which are on the smaller side.

This is the first time I have used a stick product on my eyebrows. I’ve used a pencil, powder, and pomade, and don’t really have a preference. I think all four work great, but I will say the pencil and Brow Beauty Brow Fix stick take less finessing. As with the other eye products I tested from Mally, the Brow Fix is also creamy. It does have a waxier feel to it, but this is needed to help it adhere to brow hair. I really like how the Brow Fix tamed, shaped, and colored my brows in just a few feathery strokes.

Bottom Line: If you haven’t tried out Mally Beauty, you definitely should. Though some of the products are a little on the pricey side, they are well worth the investment. I found the Face Defender BB Cream Foundation, $45, Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner, $18, Evercolor Shadow Stick, $25, and Brow Beauty Brow Fix, $35 for duo to all be well made. They all had great blendability, color payoff, and long-lasting power, which is exactly we all want from our makeup.
