Wonderstruck is the first fragrance from the cutie pootie American pop – country singer Taylor Swift. Even if you don’t care for her music, the pop star is an incredibly talented songwriter. I love her style, she always manages to look age appropriate and stylish. I really love the cute frocks she wears–and yes, I said ‘frocks’ because that’s what they are–sweet feminine short dresses. Wonderstruck launched this month  in cooperation with the cosmetic company Elizabeth Arden.  “A charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence.”

The scent is a  floral with sparkling fruity tones on a wooden background. The top notes are raspberry, dewberry, green tea, freesia and apple blossom. The heart features sweet vanilla along with sun drenched honeysuckle and white hibiscus. Notes of golden amber, musk, sandalwood and peach are in the base. Wonderstruckopens with the sparkling fruity notes and then the vanilla makes it’s appearance, finally drying down to the warmer notes. I had a hard time finding the honeysuckle and white hibiscus in the mix–I feel the vanilla and amber overwhelm the softer notes a bit. I expected the fragrance to be sweet and sugary, so it was a nice surprise that Wonderstruck is more a grown up scent.  The bottle is an iridescent purple with a gold embossed pattern and three gold charms; a 3D star, a bird and a birdcage.  Honestly, I wish the bottle was as grown up as the scent. Although the juice isn’t very original, it’s a very pleasing scent for everyday wear, but probably not something I would wear for a sexy dinner date (if I ever go on one).  That said,  I was wearing Wonderstruck while shopping this weekend and actually received a few compliments, and as Martha Stewart says “that’s a good thing.”

  1. If I could look as cute as Taylor I’d buy it for sure!

  2. Yeah, the bottle is a turn off. But your description of the scent has me curious. Plus, I’ve been wanting to sample it ever since I saw that Christian Sieriano was doing the dress Taylor was wearing in the commercial. LOL

  3. I smelled this in the store and was shocked by the candy smell… definitely not a smell I like, but I can definitely see how others would smell it on someone and like it immediately.

  5. It smells wonderful and I love the name.
