Soap and Glory Glamorama Gift Set!

Purchased by me

We all know Soap & Glory for their cute and kitschy bath and body products and last year they expanded their offerings into makeup. I fell hard for the Peach Party blush and Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL Gloss. So when I was searching for some new makeup to buy just because I couldn’t resist this Soap and Glory cute and funky Glamorama Gift Set for only $30. Soap and Glory does THE best gift sets and this one is no exception.

The packaging fits with the Soap and Glory esthetic: the graphics look like it might be featured in a gossip magazine and it super cute and kitschy. The packaging itself is a square box with a place for everything inside plus a full-size mirror. Unfortunately, it is too big and bulky for travel. That is really is a shame because the kit contains pretty much everything you need for a night out except foundation.  There is a magnetic closure that works really, really, well so I suppose you could take it along with you, but it definitely won’t fit in a makeup bag.

Now for what’s inside!

Set Includes (all full size):

  • Limited-Edition Lid Stuff in Okey Smokey, What a Night and Foil in Love (0.02 oz each)
  • Sexy Mother Pucker in Charm Offensive (0.13 oz)
  • Glow All Out Luminizing Powder (0.31 oz)
  • Thick & Fast HD Mascara in Black (0.33 oz)
  • Supercat Liquid Eyeliner in Black (0.05 oz)
  • Eyeshadow Brush
  • Half Moon Blusher Brush

I’m quite impressed with all the products in the kit. I’ll start with the limited edition eyeshadows. They all perform nicely (I always use eyeshadow primer) and I didn’t get any fallout. Okey Smokey is a matte dove grey, What A Night is a matte midnight blue and Foil In Love is a shimmery silver. All these shades combine for a pretty smokey eye. They apply well and blend easily, even What A Night. Deep matte shades can be chalky, patchy and hard to blend so I’m happy that wasn’t the case. The eyeshadow brush is a throw away as with most kits.

For this eye look, I used a creamy white on the brow bone and as a base. That is one complaint I have about the kit–it would have been nice to have one more eyeshadow shade for a base. I used Okey Smokey in the crease, the silver Foil In Love on the lid and What A Night in the outer corner up into the outer crease. Super Cat black liquid liner and Thick and Fast mascara.

Glow All Out Luminizing Face Powder is fabulous! If you’re looking for a glittery high shine strobing powder, this is NOT it. It is, however, something I feel all over 40 women need but have trouble finding and that is a subtle luminizer/highlighter that is not full of glitter or looks like your face is a beacon leading a ship into port. I used this as a finishing powder with a big fluffy brush and as a highlighter on my cheekbones with a fan brush and both add a lovely luminosity. The half moon brush that comes with the set isn’t half bad for applying Glow All Out.  I’m highly impressed with this highlighter!

Super Cat Liquid Eyeliner Pen is very easy to use. It has a felt tip that can make thick or thin lines. I’m not usually great with liquid liner but I had no problems with this pen and that speaks volumes! It’s a rich black color but not TOO harsh for older eyes and when I can find a forgiving liner, I’m a happy blogger!

Thick and Fast HD Mascara. Wow, I wasn’t expecting to like this mascara, but I really do! The wand does a great job of separating lashes while providing length. The brush makes the difference in this mascara: it is a 7-Sided Fan Flare-180 brush with a V-groove to lay down volume and intensity and is slightly curved to provide a network of combing and curling surfaces to give length, definition and drama. It also has No Flake24 all-day wear technology. Win!

Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquer is ah-mazing! The color is called Charm Offensive and I can’t find it on the website at all. In fact, I can’t find the lip lacquers anywhere! I don’t know if this is a new product that they included in the set or if it’s a discontinued product and no longer available. I hope the latter is not the case because I love the formula AND the shade! It’s a pigmented liquid lipstick that makes lips look full and shiny. Charm Offensive is a very pretty warm medium pink almost berry that is perfect for Fall and Winter. It is sticky but that doesn’t bother me because it lasts so long on the lips and leaves a slight stain behind.

Here is the final look:

Note: I should have posted this on Friday the 13th, because it has disappeared from the Ulta website, Walgreen’s as well as the website. They do have the other version of the set, Flatterbox. That set has eyeshadows in  Copper, Choccy and Cream Soda with the lip gloss in Plums Up. It too is a great set, I just didn’t choose it because I have 11 billion neutral eyeshadows but it would make an excellent gift.

Good News: from now until 12/31/17 take 30% off Soap and Glory at with code GLORY30. Unfortunately, this excludes gift sets.

Bottom Line: there are so many great products in the Soap and Glory Glamorama Gift Set, you cannot go wrong! Separately purchased the set would cost approx $59 and this darling set retails for only $30! It’s fun and you will use everything in it, plus it makes a fun and thoughtful gift!
