The Best Eyeshadow Palettes of 2017!

If it isn’t apparent, let me tell you, makeup palettes, especially eyeshadow palettes are my jam. I’ve put together the following list of the best palettes I tried in 2017 in no particular order. I’m currently testing HUDA beauty and from what I’ve heard, that should be added to the list. There seemed to be a plethora of warm-toned palettes this year but I’ve included a few cool-toned gems I found and a few great all-around palettes too. I’d love to hear your favorites in the comments!

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette – The palette is a warm mix of 12 all NEW amber hues like terracotta, copper, bronzed pink and brown, all my favorites and right in my wheelhouse. There are both matte and shimmer finishes all excellent quality with a creamy texture. I knew right away I needed this in my life and it was totally worth the $54 price tag. Full review and tutorial here.

Too Faced Just Peachy ($45) – from the peaches and cream collection, these 12 warm matte shades are highly pigmented and perform beautifully.

Pixi Beauty ItsJudyTime Eyeshadow Palette ($24) –  is fantastic quality and a great value. 12 eyeshadows for $24 is pretty spectacular and the performance couldn’t be better. I have been reaching for this often! Read full review here.

BECCA  Après Ski Glow Eye Lights Palette –  was inspired by BECCA’s iconic Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighters. There are seven neutral shades in two creamy finishes: shimmer and satin and they are stunning! This is a ‘glow’ palette so you won’t see any crazy colors just pretty glimmering shades that enhance. LOVE THIS SO MUCH! Read my full review and see eye looks here.

Notice a trend here? SO many warm palettes debuted in 2017 it was overwhelming! Read on for more well-rounded palettes that have a mix or warm AND cool shades.

PÜR PRO x Etienne Ortega Eyeshadow Palette ($42)- is curated by celebrity hair and makeup artist Etienne Ortega and it’s PÜRfection! The palette features 18 blendable and buildable shades that go from basic everyday shades to smoky to red carpet looks. There is a mix of mattes and shimmers, warm and cool shades with a few transition sises thrown in for good measure. This is SO overlooked and it’s a great palette for a really good price! Read full review and see swatches here.

Cargo Cosmetics Emerald City Eyeshadow Palette ($34) – another overlooked brand is Cargo Cosmetics. It’s too bad because their entire holiday collection was fabulous! The 12 eyeshadows are a mix of neutrals, gold highlights and a profusion of greens. The palette is laid out in 3 coordinated quads and 6 duos making it easy to create a multitude of day and night looks. I really, really enjoy this palette. The colors are rich with great color payoff and they are long-lasting. Read my full review and see swatches here.

IT Cosmetics IT Girl Palette ($48) – OMG the packaging is so glitzy and glam! This palette has a warm and cool side with a stunning blush in the center. There is a lovely mix of satin and shimmer shades and the shimmer shades are perfect for over 40 gals and pretty, polished looks. In addition, if you want a quick, no-brainer look the palette is set up perfectly! Read full review here.

Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette ($39) – these 20 metallic shades are exclusive to the palette and the formula is new. The formulation of these shadows is incredible, as is the color payoff and wear time. If you love the metallic look, I highly recommend adding this limited-edition palette to your collection. Read the full review here.  P.S. I’ve seen this on sale for $39!

For a pretty and fun cool-toned palette, I suggest Manna Kadar Paris Dream ($59) – a great all-in-one palette that goes from day to night easily. The quality is excellent and you can create so many effortlessly chic and elegant looks! I use the blush all the time for a pretty glowy look! Read the full review here.

Lancome AUDACity in London Eyeshadow Palette ($69 + various sale prices) This mostly cool-toned palette has 16 shadows, 12 shadows and 4 glitter toppers, arranged in four coordinating quads. Also included is a double-ended brush with one end for shading and one end for blending.  I love these satiny, feminine shades. Read my full review here.

I would LOVE to hear your top palette pics for 2017, please share in the comments!

  1. I bought the BECCA Apres Skin palette after reading your review. It’s gorgeous but I wish it had one neutral matte. Still love it though

  2. Lola Seicento says

What a tempting post! I see several palettes that I want, and now I am going to go look at your swatches and individual reviews!

  3. Laura Samson-Exner says

It’s a make up lovers heaven this post. I’m certainly going to check out a few of these reviews as there are a couple on here I really like.

  4. Great choices. I have a few of these like the Becca that you tempted me by (and I found it on sale). I wear the Persona e/s palette from Ulta very often as well as Pur’s Soiree Diaries. I’m thinking about taking Pur Etienne Ortega with me on my long trip (and adding a darker brown single) since I think that it would cover all my mood swings.

  5. Jen Mathews says

I’ve been using the Too Faced Just Peachy and UD Metal palettes a lot!

  6. Krystal Butherus says

So many makeup palettes to choose from! 2017 was definitely a good year in makeup!

  7. Maria Katsulos says

2017 was the YEAR OF THE PALETTES for sure! I haven’t bought any of these, but I do have the Tartelette toasted, which to me seems like an Urban Decay Heat lite, in a way! Definitely want to try the Becca one too, I’m obsessed with them!

  8. I like Pixi ByJudy

  9. Pamela Hodges says

These are all so pretty! I can’t even pick a favorite. I love all of the shimmery pinks!

  10. 2017 definitely was a great year for makeup. Love seeing all the color palettes this fall and winter

  11. Melissa Chapman says

So many great ideas in makeup. You always come up with great choices. I know I am boring when it comes to this stuff so I will choose Just Peachy for my coloring.

  12. The Naked Heat palette is still on my wishlist! I hope to grab it in 2018!

  13. I really wish Lancome had come out with an Audacity (in Milan or NY?) palette this year – I was so sure they would, and I wanted another from them badly!

  14. I recently purchased the BECCA Après Ski Glow Eye Lights Palette and love it! This is my first time using this brand and I will definitely be buying more from them in the future.

  15. So many choices and only two little eyes!

  16. These are some of my favorite palettes, especially the one from Urban Decay. I’ve yet to try the AudaCity palette by Lancome but it looks great for winters.

  17. These are great! I just gifted that Too Faced palette for the holidays!
