We’ve talked cleanser, primer, mascara and lipstick. Now, in my final Borghese post I’ll be reviewing a few select items from their Eclissare Collection – Eclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette, $55, Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss, $21.50, and Eclissare ColorEdge Eye Pencils, $21.50. The word “
The word “eclissare,” is an Italian verb with means to eclipse. I can absolutely see why they named the collection as such. The products definitely eclipse your eyes and lips with depth, dimension, and luminosity. Perhaps that’s why I saved the best for my last review in the series.
Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss in Spark & Shimmer, $21.50
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t start my review with a lip gloss. These ColorGlass glosses, available in 9 shades, are truly unique. Not only are they hydrating, but they also offer beautiful high shine and intensely reflective pigmentation. The ColorGlass are not your typical gloss. They give my lips a luminous glow, which can be worn alone or as a topper (see picture below).
I received Spark and Shimmer. Spark, which has a very duochrome look to it is a bit hard to describe, but I would say it is a combination of a white/pink gloss with pink and silver glitter. In some light the glitter also looks green and gold. Shimmer is more of a brownish gloss with gold and pink glitter. These glosses do have a “stick” to them, which improves wear time, but doesn’t feel tacky on the lips.
Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorEdge Eye Pencil in Pitch Black, $21.50
The next item I sampled in the Eclissare collection was the eye pencil in Pitch Black. As the name indicates, Pitch Black is a deep intense black, and it more than lives up to its description. The color payoff is intense and the formulation is rich and creamy. A bit too creamy if you ask me.
Upon first use, the creaminess worked great. I had no problem applying Pitch Black, but after a few uses the pencil really wore down, and if I accidently knicked it with the cap, I lost more of the pencil. This made creating definition a bit of a challenge, although it worked for the smudgy look of a smoky eye.
My biggest issue with the ColorEdge Eye Pencil was that it is impossible to sharpen. I actually had to use an electric pencil sharpener, and then a apply the pencil with an angled brush.
Eclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette, $55
By far my favorite item from the collection is the Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette, and not only because every time I wear it I receive a compliment. Okay, it’s slightly the reason why I love the palette so much.
This neutral inspired palette features 12 eyeshadows, along with the signature Borghese compact and mirror and dual-ended blending and precision brush. Among the 12 shadows are cremes, soft shimmers, and high impact glitters, which makes this the ideal palette for creating day and night looks.
Bask – a light, warm-toned creamy-beige with a satin-matte finish
Afterglow – a warm-toned medium-beige with a highly metallized
Pulse – a warm-toned, soft-peach, highly metallized
Veil – a cool neutral soft-brown with a satin-matte finish
Muse – a burnished gold with brown undertones, highly metallized
Ascend – a light, soft-tan with yellow undertones, satin-matte finish
Wane – a rich medium brown with warm undertones, satin-matte finish
Impact – a medium rose-copper, highly metallized
Downfall – a dark brown with depth, matte finish
Out There – a medium pewter, highly metalized
Shroud – a deep charcoal-grey with blue undertones, highly metallized
Immortal – a deep charcoal-black with subtle silver glitter
In addition to blending like velvet and having amazing color payoff, the shadows are long-lasting and don’t crease, even when worn without a primer. I instantly feel in love with the Shadow and Light palette. It made my blue eyes really standout, which isn’t always easy because they are on the smaller side. I was seriously amazed by how many compliments I received, especially when both my dad and sister said noticed.
Overall: The Borghese Eclissare collection is filled with amazing, well-made products. Though I’ve only sampled three items from the collection, I am impressed with each one. I would highly recommend checking out the Eclissare Color Eclipse Shadow and Light Luminous Eye Palette, $55, and the Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss, $21.50. Both are beautifully unique and live up to the high standard of Borghese.
Have you tried any of the Eclissare collection? If so, what is your favorite item?
What I find fascinating is how different your eye color looks with each combination of eye shadow! My favorite is the middle one – it totally makes your eyes pop!
I was surprised by that too. I think the middle one might be my fav as well.
Those shadows look fabulous on your green/hazel eyes, wow! too bad the eyeliner pencil was so hard to sharpen because it sure is very black!
I don’t know what they were thinking with the pencil. It is impossible to sharpen.
Your eyes look amazing in the second set of pictures. I wear full makeup just for dates with my husband and sometimes church. I’m trying to dress nicer and wear makeup more often to break out of my mom uniform more often. Thanks for the inspiration
Thank you for the compliment. Glad I could provide some inspiration.
I love that palette. It is so pretty!
One of my new favorites.
That palette looks like something I would love. Nothing crazy, but stunning none the less. Looks awesome!
It is a very wearable palette.
Back in the day… I wore Borghese eyeshadows and loved them. It seems like they’ve continued having beautiful shadows. That palette is so pretty.
They did an amazing job with this palette.
I have SO many neutral palettes but I still feel like I need all the pretty one….like this, lol.
It is easy to build a neutral palette collection, especially when the colors are so wearable.
I love this palette. I am all about wearing the natural colors and this is a lodge collection! Plus Borghese is a great product.
Borghese made a great palette for natural, neutral colors.
I’ve never heard of this brand but it looks great. About 95% of the time I wear neutral colors so I love this palette.
This is a perfect neutral palette.
That is a gorgeous color pallet and I LOVE those lip glosses!! I don’t care about the rules for shimmer! I saw give me all shimmer all the time!
I completely agree. This is perfect shimmer for all day and all night.
I love the sparkle in the palette. It’s subtle and very pretty.
One of my favorite things about it.
Borghese glosses are some of my favorite, although i’m not a huge fan of the palettes.
It looks like this has some awesome neutrals in it. Ill definitely have to check it out!
I’ve never tried this product before but the result looks amazing
This is an amazing pallet! I love the different shades
Very pretty shades. I am not much of a make up person, but this looks great.
Those lip glosses are gorgeous! And that liner is so so black wow
These are all super nice products. I haven’t actually used the palette yet but it is soo pretty
The palette is beautiful; I love the look you created using it. I’m sorry the pencil is hard to sharpen, but I love the depth of the black.
