Let’s Go To The Beach With Urban Decay!

The Urban Decay Beached Collection had me at the packaging–beautiful images of palm trees even on the lipstick tube! Then when I saw the blue and green shades in the eyeshadow palette, well…I HAD to have it. It brings back my days at the beach growing up in Southern California. The collection includes the Beached Eyeshadow Palette, three lipsticks and two 27/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils.

The Beached Eyeshadow Palette $34 is limited edition and has eight fabulous NEW shades in beachy and ocean shades. True, this isn’t the most unique idea, we see several brands use bronzey and aquatic shades every summer and you may already own a few. However, I’m happy to say the Beached Palette has a stunning selection of shades with an outstanding formula and to me, that makes it worthwhile.

The palette contains 8 shadows: 1 matte, 1 satin and 6 shimmers

  • Salt- ivory satin
  • Blaze- light metallic peach with pink shift
  • Heatwave- metallic rust
  • Daybreak- matte red terracotta
  • 16th St.- metallic bronze-gold
  • Double Dip- bright metallic teal
  • Plunge- deep metallic blue-green
  • Wedge- deep metallic brown-copper

Obviously, these colors scream summer and the beach but how do they perform? The shades are rich and intense, don’t budge and have a velvety, buttery texture. Though most of them have a metallic finish, they are NOT chunky or have glitter fallout. They apply smoothly with no patchiness. Many looks can be achieved: a bronze goddess, pool party, summer nights using the ocean shades, etc.

I did two eye looks with the palette. For the first look I used Daybreak in the crease, Heatwave to deepen the crease a bit, Blaze on the lid, Salt on the brow bone and Plunge under lower lash line. Lucky is used on the upper lash line.

For the second look, I attempted a halo eye. Again I used Daybreak in the crease, Heatwave in the deeper crease, Wedge on the inner and outer corners, Double Dip on the lid, Salt on the brow bone and Blaze on the tear duct. Wedge was used on the upper lash line and Lucky on the lower lash line.

I’m really happy with the Beached Palette but if you don’t enjoy shimmery shades, you might want to pass.

The Beached Vice Lipsticks $18 come in 3 shades: 100 Degrees, bright red coral, Tower 1, shifty metallic peach and Heatwave, metallic rust. I chose 100 Degrees and am in love! The Vice formula is a favorite of mine, and 100 Degrees is a sheer bright red coral that looks like you’ve just had a red popsicle. It feels light and comfortable on the lips and is the perfect wearable pop of color for summer. Add the beachy packaging and I’m in LOVE! I also wanted Tower 1 but I was afraid it was too pale and would wash me out.

The Beached 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Lucky $20 is phenomenal! I know this was either in another limited edition collection or part of the permanent line because I’ve had it years ago and have not seen it again until now so I am thrilled to have Lucky back! Beauties, this metallic rusty bronze liner with a touch of sparkle makes any color eyes POP! It’s perfect for summer bronze looks or even on its own without eyeshadow on a lazy summer day. I don’t need to tell you about the 24/7 formula, we all know it can’t be beat. Grab this while you can, I’ll be stocking up!
