I have hair dreams. I want my hair to look like Heidi Klum’s or Jennifer Lopez’. I love that long silky look and have always aspired to have that look. Sometimes I come close.

My latest adventure into achieving my dream uses two products, Overtone The Remedy Colorless Hair Mask and CHI Hot Smoothing Hair Dryer Brush (here’s Cindy’s review, mine is forthcoming).

Overtone The Remedy is available in 2 options (The Remedy and The Remedy for Fine Hair). Both are deeply nourishing and a pleasure to use between times you need color or whenever fine hair needs the perfect amount of weightless hydration. The feeling of silk turns my hair into the best conditioned hair I’ve had.

What makes Overtone The Remedy unique is that it can be used by any of us (and that includes men) to get rid of the look of dry or strawlike hair. But even better is that you can mix color directly into it to achieve some outstanding effects.

Overtone The Remedy ingredients
Free from
Phthalates, SLS, SLES, Cruelty Free, Parabens, DMDM Hydantoin, Urea, Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, DEA/TEA/MEA/ETA, Formaldehyde

Overtone is known for healthy home color and is a choice of many of the younger bloggers I know. Instead of fooling with perfection they’ll use the colors of Overtone that they’ve come to love and add it to this silky hair mask.

  • Contains: 8 fl. oz. (full size), 2 fl. oz. (strand test/sample size)
  • Perfect For: Deeply hydrating between color applications, or whenever hair needs extra hydration
  • Made With: 100% vegan, cruelty-free formula
  • Effective On: All hair types and curl-friendly
  • Free Of: Ammonias, parabens, and sulfates
  • Best Results: All starting shades

* This product includes nourishing, plant-based ingredients such as avocado, sesame, evening primrose, and olive oils. Because our formula does not contain damaging chemicals or harsh stabilizers, these ingredients may produce a natural variation in color.

The way to use this mask is to wash and rinse your hair, then with your fingers or a scalp brush/comb work it through your strands over and over. The more time I take to work this through, the softer and more satiny my hair will look. I leave it in for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it out completely. I never need a leave in or spray after since my hair feels so conditioned.

The Remedy for Fine Hair is especially good for people with curls. Because it’s a lighter weight product it won’t weigh down your natural curl. Whichever you choose I’d use it no more than once a week. The Remedy delivers the nourishment you need any day. It’s great before or after you add color. It’s great whenever you’re hair is saying NO to you. Make it say YES with Overtone The Remedy.

Available on Amazon and on the Overtone website.
